Scalextric Inner City Speed

I have had a fondness for the lovely Scalextric sets for many years now and it was my late husband who first introduced me to my love of slot car racing. One of my first purchases I bought off the Internet from Ebay for £25 and it was Inner City Speed. I think this was a fair price to pay because even though it was second hand it was still in very good condition for the price. I was very impressed with this and I think this is a good basic set and a lovely introduction to the world of Scalextric and slot car racing. I have always been an admirer of speed and I like to enjoy myself by sitting on a fast coach and playing with my lovely Scalextric things on a night helps to entertain me and keeps me amused when I am not doing my DIY or up at my lovely allotment.

This Inner City Speed is still in the box I got it in when it arrived and it is still in good order even though I do get it out quite regularly, especially during the winter months when I don’t get out as much. It is a 1:32 scale and I also like to make my own models to go with it. The length of the track in the box is decent, I find and it is 3.92m but when I played with this much track for a little while I found that is when I wanted to add to it and so I bought myself some more. Scalextric is very addictive for me and once I got started I found it quite hard to give it up.

You need a lot of space to use this track though and I tend to use mine in the conservatory. It is not digital, it is analogue and that is because it is very basic but it is still very good for the beginner. My cats all find it very funny when they see my little cars going racing around the track and sometimes they try to grab at the cars with their little paws. That is when it gets quite funny, I find.

There were two little cars in the box, which were pretty little Minis, which I really loved, and two hand throttles a standard 45 degree curve, a half straight track, a power base assembly, a transformer and a 90 degree crossover.

This is a lovely little Scalextric starter pack and I was very pleased with it when I got it. My granddaughter and I spend many happy hours playing with it when she comes to my house and I am very happy to recommend it to you.
