Super Scanner at a Special Price
Review of Epson Perfection 1250 by
LtSticks
Advantages: Simple, good interface, quality results
Disadvantages: None!
...sure of the results, however Epson is a good name to trust and so I felt that a scanner from them at less than 100 pounds would be reasonable.
And my expectations were blown out the water! The software is excellent, the scanner itself is easy to install and work, and the additional programs with the package are outstanding.
The scanner even comes with an adapter to scan photo negatives! Which although not useful for all, makes me feel that Epson ...

This **IS** Perfection
Review of Epson Perfection 1200U by
XJSGAV
Advantages: Speed, quality
Disadvantages: none
This is one excellent scanner, I use my scanner to restore and edit photographs for my family and friends. With an optical resolution of 1200 by 2400 there is no need for interpolation, which is what cheap scanners use. Yes no longer do I get blurry edges of interpolated images and the images are perfectly crisp. For anyone wanting clear un-blurred images for whatever reasons this is the best option. It is quiet and with a USB connector it has ample ...

Perfection Is Not Nesasary
Review of Epson Perfection 1260 by
Champ666
Advantages: Cheap and Does The Job
Disadvantages: Long Time To Install Drivers
Since I got a digital camera scanners have been a bit of a lost cause for me as the main reason I had for using one was to scan in photos, and I have not used one in a good few years. However as there is going to be a new champ at the beginning of October I have found myself needing one again, so that I can scan in ultrasound scans of Jr. and send them to my family. As I am not going to use it for much else price was my main criteria for selection, ... ...then it satisfied that. However you can pick one up for anything up to £40 on eBay.
The scanner has a resolution of 1260 dots per inch and to be honest for looking at stuff on a screen I have found 300 dots per inch to be more than adequate. This also keeps the image size down to a respectable size too. For printing out high resolution images the more dots per inch you have is better, but again a 300 dot per inch photo is perfectly reasonable.

Very good buy
Review of Epson Perfection 1260 Photo by
Kate1981
Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: software
I have just recently bought this scanner for home and I am very pleased with it. It was cheap and it works very well for what I need it for. It did take me a little while to get used to the software, but once I sat down and had a good look through the programme, it is very simple. i did scan a photo in and it had all red lines going through it - I am sure I will be able to sort this out with a little messing around. This is my first scanner (for ... ...Very simple to use (once you get used to the software)and good value for money! I would definately recomend this to anyone looking to buy a scanner.
Ok adding some more on after reading the comments: The scanner cost about £60 and I bought it with my computer off the internet from Dell. I no longer have the red lines going through my photos and I dont know about the service call centre, as I haven't had to use it yet!
This is my first scanner, ...

Epson Perfection, well, not far off.
Review of Epson Perfection 1240U by
Crazy_Josh
Advantages: Good picture quality, very cheap
Disadvantages: Bit old now, not great OCR
This is my scanner, the Epson 1240U, and I have had it for about 2 years now. When I bought it, it was not at the price it is now, in fact I think I spent £120 on it. Even at that price I would say it is not a bad scanner, however, looking at the price now, I would say that if you bought it now, you could class this as a bargain.
With a pretty good actual resolution of 2400x1200 dots per inch, the resolution is pretty good, and it does not take ... ...on this, check out the Epson website).
Installing the scanner is simple. If you have an up-to-date operating system, it will detect the scanner as soon as you plug the USB plug and play socket in, and automatically install the drivers if you so wish. If you don't actually want to use the software provided for making the scan, you will find it also compatible with many applications. I frequently use Adobe Photoshop Elements import feature which automatically ...
