One Touch and Away You Go
Review of Xerox 4800TA OneTouch by rachel1431

Advantages: Quick to Install And Easy to Use
Disadvantages: Mabe software a little complicated for novice users

I have owned my Xerox 4800TA OneTouch for a few weeks now and received it as a present (I think around £70.00 was paid). It is available on Amazon for around £68 with free delivery. The scanner looks very good, is streamlined and modern looking with its attractive new slim line design. It has a USB connection but has no alternative of parallel or serial. It has a side opening rather than it being hinged on the short edge which I found much more ...

Good scanner, doesn't support Windows Vista
Review of Xerox 4800 OneTouch by laurapipe01

Advantages: Good picture quality, not a bad price
Disadvantages: Doesn't support Windows Vista, Xerox no longer support scanners

...helpdesk support for scanners from Xerox is non existant. I searched the web for a new update of the driver, and I kept going around in circles, with the ending conclusion that the updated driver didn't exist yet. I then preceed to phone Xerox to ask about this, when you call Xerox with the number on the box, you get a recorded message which asks you to enter your serial number, I did this and the recorded message kept telling me this product didn't ...
...advisor, who then told me Xerox no longer delt with the Scanners, this was out sourced to another company (I don't remember the name, sorry). I phoned this other company (on an expensive number) and the guy told me that they were aware that the Xerox 4800 didn't have a Vista compatible driver and that I should keep checking the Xerox website as they were working on one and it should be there in about 4 weeks. Well, 5 months down the line, the driver ... Read review

VISION OF THE FUTURE ? JUST A TOUCH.
Review of Visioneer OneTouch 8700 USB by lukydug

Advantages: Different varieties of use
Disadvantages: Takes time to sort it all out if you want the lot

Once again I bought this item as part of a package from PC World and once again I was Delighted. Breaking everything down in the package this scanner cost around £75 so I was well pleased. LOOKS AND DESIGN A neat package that fits well into my desk layout, sitting nicely on the bottom below my printer. It is unobtrusive but easily operable due to the way the lid opens at the front allowing you to slip your item for copying into it with ease. All ...
...so easy. SPECIFICATION Resolution is 1200 X 4800 dpi Maximum size 8.5 x 11.69 ins Size is height 4ins, width 11.7ins, length 16.7ins and the weight is 6.2lbs INSTALLATION It comes with a software cd, USB cable, power supply and a very good installation guide. First like any good scanner it should have a locking tab which in this case is mounted on the bottom, unlock it. Install the software supplied and follow the instructions until it says ... Great visions from Visioneer!
Review of Visioneer One Touch 8700 USB by gusgusrule

Advantages: Cheap, excellent quality scanning, easy to install
Disadvantages: Slightly outdated design, reasonably slow,

The Visioneer One Touch 8700 USB is the latest addition to our studio. Now as usual, it had to pass through a number of criteria put forward by the boss! So what were the critieria? He was after a cheap scanner (under £100) for use with the receptionists PC and simply for scanning in pictures for our new website. So we didn't buy this for use in the design department, in which case we would have opted for something much more expensive and more capable. ...
...beige boxes, so I suppose visioneer did a litte to differentiate by having a black box instead of a beige one! Nowadays however theres not a beige scanner in sight in most PC stores, the shelfs are full of all sorts of designs, and in all sorts of colours, I'm particulary fond of the latest blue HP and epson ones and the attractive silver canon models. Its got 7 large buttons on the front which are large and easy to locate. -------------------- ... Read review

Worth It !
Review of Canon CanoScan 4400F by kel2v07

Advantages: Simple to use, Relatively Cheap, Looks good.
Disadvantages: Takes a while to install, lid hinge is awkward.

Being a Graphic Art student, during my first year of university I found myself fighting the urge to buy a scanner. However, even mounting student debts and an overdraft extension could not put me off this bargain of a scanner! Other scanners on the market either seem to have too many needless features bumping the prices up, or they are painfully slow and bulky machines that would not sit comfortably next to a new Mac. I managed to get mine for around ...
...perfect for fast but accurate scans of images, without the fuss of useless applications that clog up your memory [it works best straight through Photoshop]. The added extras like the automatic white-balancing save time, and it crops whilst in preview mode. To add to the list of necessities, it is quite light, it easy to clean, and looks sleek in silver and black. It may take a while to install but it's not complicated and is worth the wait when you ...
