Dont buy it!
Review of Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB by
fsrc
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Colour sensitivity
I have bought this scanner to use in my office, and I wish I had not. It is slow and the colours it produces are useless. I wanted it to scan and copy A3 colour maps that I had produced so I could print them out and send drafts to my clients, however this machine is now collecting dust as I have gone back to my Brother A4 scanner and have to fold the maps in half and stick together later.
Ordinary black pen comes out as purple, dark green pencil ... ...expect for this price? In this case absolute rubbish! I am so very disappointed in it. Does anyone make an A3 colour scanner at a reasonable price???
The only things it has going for it is that it is compact and light weight and relatively easy to use. ...

quality scanning
Review of Primax Colorado Direct 9600 by
Beautybox
Advantages: easy to use and cheap
Disadvantages: no power button of USB port
This scanner came free with my pc package so i wasn't expecting much from it but have been pleasantly suprised by its ease of use and set up and the quality of the scan. The only problem i had with it is that the software wasn't compatable with my printer software so a techi friend of mine had to download new software for it so i could keep using my printer. he assures me this is straight forward if you know what you are looking for and probably ... ...but if you have a lexmark printer you should be aware of this.
The only other downsides which aren't really major are that it doesn't have an on/off button so you have to unplug it form the wall after every use adn it doesn't have a usb port so you need to check you have enough 12 pin jacks before buying, though in saying that you can plug it in via your printer if that has the right jack.
Overall if your only using it occasionally then it is great, ...

What a load of poo
Review of Primax Colorado USB 9600 by
leadboiler
Advantages: Yay it's cheap!
Disadvantages: But it's a load of bollox
...cheapest scanner they sold. The Primax Colorado USB 9600 is a load of poop. You can buy one of these for around £30-35 which, for a scanner is very cheap. However, I do not recommend it, continue reading to see why...
*Why it's so crap*
-------------------------
I could have pulled each one of my hairs out one by one whilst setting up this flipping article. It took me a whole afternoon to get one piece of paper scanned, and then, ... ...else to say about the Primax Colorado USB 9600 scanner, well... unless you want to see a load of random swear words but I'm too much of a good girl for that. So just take my advice, don't buy it... yes yes I know it's cheap but by the time you get a decent scan you'll want to chuck it out of the window. DON'T BUY IT! ...

Reliable Quality
Review of UMAX Astra 610P by
djnewfie
Advantages: Native XP Drivers
Disadvantages: Slow scans
...reliable scanner.Only problem is with UMAX they will swear this scanner is not XP compatable or even ME compatable. But i have ran on both OS with no problem. The 9X driver works on ME and i guess the NT version will work on Win2000.I would recomend this scanner to anyone or small business that wants something that is going to last them for more than a year. ...

A Near Perfect Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 by
anonymili
Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES
The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so ... ...handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose whether you want them in colour or monochrome or select the image quality you want from 75, 100, 200, 250, 300 or 400 ...
