Canon CanoScan N650u Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan N650U by
JoshBrown21
Advantages: Good-Looking, Compact, Good For Little Kids
Disadvantages: Not Very Good Quality
Good, compact scanner but not very good quality. If scanning in photos, pretty good but if scanning in text, the text sometimes comes out multi-coloured. I was actually given this scanner by a friend who was clearing his bedroom, and is suitable for me because all i use it for is messing around . . . . the usual things kids usually do like putting their hand on it and scanning it in, or just little bits of homework.
This scanner is very compact, ... ...A4 paper and is about 2 cm deep. I have mine tucked away in a little drawer, out of the way!
Would recommend for little kids who want to scan in their hand prints, etc ... , but not for business people who are using it for work! ;) ...

N640p... In Plain English
Review of Canon CanoScan N640P by
Kyz22
Advantages: Good price, reliable, simple to use
Disadvantages: Has a boring name
...my recent review of another Canon scanner I though, ahh why not review the other one too, whilst my head is still full of scanning terminology. Sorry if it sounds a bit similar to my other scanning review, but there is only so much you can say about a scanner! So, the N640p, it sounds just like a manufacturers code that is used in a database somewhere. Well, to be brutally honest it is. Scanners, printers and suchlike never get good names. Cars will ... ...for this purpose, and the Canon N640p lets you do this with relative ease. You simple go to the settings panel.
Installing the machine is easy, it works on a plug and play basis. Jam the cable into your computer, let it recognise your new hardware and you're ready to go. If you're not using Windows Me or Xp (home or professional) then you will probably have to use the disk to install the scanner as the Device Manager isn’t as advanced on their operating ...

Review of Canon CanoScan D660U by
djbpcs
Advantages: solid built good brand , high quality
Disadvantages: software some what lurky
.... downloaded the software from canon usa (because canon europe wants you to pay for every thing!)
the disadvantage is that the software standard is selected for film transprarant (yes , this scanner can scan 35mm negatives) and not glas (for normal scans) but after a search trough the settings mode a found the settign for glass or transparant i also have a more modern canon scanner (lide20) but this one is much butter although you would not say ...

Scan this... Slowly
Review of Canon CanoScan FS4000US by
AndrewPo
Advantages: Extremely good image quality
Disadvantages: very slow
When I bought this scanner a few years ago it was quite expensive at more than £700 although at the time scanners of this resolution were in general even more expensive. It is quite an old design and most likely now to be found only on the second-hand market, but due to it's sturdy construction could make a sensible second-hand purchase when compared to the relatively cheap and cheerful scanners available now. It is very robust and fairly large with ... ...length of the film holders, but the build quality of mine has stood the test of time and it is still working after scanning about 500 films (I am gradually archiving my wildlife and travel photographs from more than 20 years of adventures) It is equipped with two sturdy metal film holders: one that takes strips of up to 6 35mm negatives and the other takes 4 mounted slides. The scanner detects which one is being used and sets the default scanning ...

A good, reliable scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan N1220U by
intelligents
Advantages: good quality, very reliable, small, USB powered (no AC adaptor)
Disadvantages: slow (in comparison to modern scanners), focusing off the glass
...not just an issue with this scanner.
I still use this as my main scanner. Its still going strong after 6 or so years. Quite amazing considering how much use its had. Having used other Lide scanners from Canon i don't think you can go wrong with this range. ...
