Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 by
brianatimmons
Advantages: image quality
Disadvantages: software ,scan speed
I have owned the canoscan scanner for several years now.
the scanner is small, compact and portable. On the front it has 3 quick buttons which usefull for speed.eg copy which will scan and print.the image quality is great and via the software provided you can select the image quality in DPI (dots per inch). It simply plugs directly into your pc or laptop using a usb cable and it has no need to be plugged in to the mains. The downsides are 1. The software ...

Dont buy it!
Review of Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB by
fsrc
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Colour sensitivity
I have bought this scanner to use in my office, and I wish I had not. It is slow and the colours it produces are useless. I wanted it to scan and copy A3 colour maps that I had produced so I could print them out and send drafts to my clients, however this machine is now collecting dust as I have gone back to my Brother A4 scanner and have to fold the maps in half and stick together later.
Ordinary black pen comes out as purple, dark green pencil ... ...expect for this price? In this case absolute rubbish! I am so very disappointed in it. Does anyone make an A3 colour scanner at a reasonable price???
The only things it has going for it is that it is compact and light weight and relatively easy to use. ...

High quality 48-bit scanner
Review of Mustek ScanExpress 1248 UB by
yassarikhan786
Advantages: Scans in both colour and black/white, cheap, runs on most OS's
Disadvantages: reasonably slow scanning time
The Mustek ScanExpress 1248 UB scanner is very old now and due to its age it has become very cheap. I was given this very flat-bed scanner by my uncle, the reason for that act of kindness was not due to his love but due to his computer retail shop being brutally burnt by a gang of thugs.
This scanner was built to scan A4 (216mm x 297mm) sized documents, but is quite capable of scanning larger documents separately. You will have the option of scanning ... ...there, which are selling the Mustek 1248 UB for a much lower price than £53.
Overall I think that the Mustek 1248UB is a very good scanner as I have one, and I have to say that it has been very reliable for the 3 years I have had it. This is not the future of scanning, but it sure does produce high quality scans of any document. And is very cost-effective basically 1. for it's low price and 2. the quality of scanning it provides.
I have given this ...

Take your filthy paws off my scanner
Review of Mustek Be@rPaw 1200CU Plus by
christianfilmcritic
Advantages: No extra power cable, light weight
Disadvantages: Slow, problems with Windows service pack 2
...of years ago, being the Mustek Be@rPaw 1200CU Plus scanner, and other than a couple of issues with it working on XP service pack 2; it has been a real star.
►►► The Look
This is what I would definitely call a slimline flatbed scanner and at just 3.7 cm in height I would hope you would agree. The rest of the scanner is pretty much a standard size with a width of approx 28cm and a depth of just over 40cm. It is no surprise that ... ...the latest drivers from the Mustek website. A bit of a hassle but very simple to do plus they have a very straight forward set of instructions on their website as to how to do this. Other than this slight annoyance the installation is very simple as it comes with a very comprehensive instruction manual and the onscreen guide when installing is plain and simple.
The scanner is designed to work wnith a PC under all Windows operating systems from 98 ...

HP Scanjet 2400
Review of HP ScanJet 2400 Digital Flatbed Scanner by
roneoron
Advantages: Excellent value for money. Loads of applications
Disadvantages: Install not easy with newer versions of XP
...had to resort to e-mailing hp tech support. They were brilliant, and e-mailed me yet another 'patch' to sort the problem. One would have thought that as these problems were obviously well known, then the software cd needs updating. That said , the scanner is fantastic value for money and more than satisfies my needs. I especially like the 'copy' button which scans straight to the printer. Brilliant for my wife's knitting patterns! ...
