Great speedy scanner!
Advantages: Speed Disadvantages: Quality (Only a small disadvantage)
The Canon CanoScan 8800f
The canon CanoScan 8800f is a near perfect scanner. It is used in our school and after using it for recent Art coursework i was very impressed. It took around ten seconds to scan an A4 sheet, which is pretty quick in my opinion. The quality is also good. The colours come out well and although it was not perfect, it's hard to expect a perfect scan of a watercolour painting, as the colours were not bold. After asking my ... ...on my work, i decided i would have to check out what it comes with online. I was surprised to see that our school's Adobe photoshop Elements 5, a great program, had come with the scanner. Also included is ArcSoft photo studio 5, a not so great piece of software. Anyway, back to the scanner itself. As well as the scanner and software, it includes a trio of plastic adaptors. One is for 35mm filmstrips, one is for 35mm mounted slides and one is for ...

...include here. You also have Canon ScanGear included on the software CD which is a very basic utility for scanning your items if you don’t want all the additional features offered by the other software packages included.
I find my scanner very reliable - not once have I had to rescan something because it got an error halfway through and it's barely audible, i.e. pretty silent compared to my previous home scanner (which was a Mustek something or other). ... ...100 is a flatbed scanner which uses a 3 colour (RGB) LED as its light source. * The optional resolution is 2400 x 4800 dpi and you can choose use anything from 25-19200 dpi as your resolution according to your needs. * Letter size is the maximum document size you can use on the glass platen which is 8.5 x 11 inches (or 216 x 279mm).

Not so bad
Advantages: Decent Scans Disadvantages: Price
literature, a detail is a small piece of information within a paragraph. A detail usually exists to support or explain a main idea. In the following excerpt from Dr. Samuel Johnson's Lives of the English Poets, the first sentence is the main idea, that Joseph Addison is a skilled "describer of life and manners". The succeeding sentences are details that support and explain the main idea in a specific way. :As a describer of life and manners, he must ... ...rank. His humour, which, as Steele observes, is peculiar to himself, is so happily diffused as to give the grace of novelty to domestic scenes and daily occurrences. He never "o'ersteps the modesty of nature," nor raises merriment or wonder by the violation of truth. His figures neither divert by distortion nor amaze by aggravation. He copies life with so much fidelity that he can be hardly said to invent; yet his exhibitions have an air so much ...

CanoScan - great quality scans at the touch of a button
Advantages: Quick, easy to use, quiet, great quality scans Disadvantages: Fairly expensive
The Canon CanoScan is a great all-round flatbed scanner. It is a good size (25cm x 36cm x 4cm) to enable all regular scanning, whilst not taking up unnecessary desk space. It has a resolution of 4800dpi x 4800 dpi, which results in great quality scans, of both black and white or colour documents/images. Whilst I have been rather let down by other scanners, this one is really easy to use and gives fantastic results. It is easy to scan in regular sheets/photos, ... ...Although other scanners I have used have allowed you to do this, the results have not been so good; often having the lid slightly ajar results in bleached patches of the scanned document, due to light getting in. However, I have personally not suffered any problems like that with this scanner. When scanning documents, text comes out clear; when scanning photos, the colours are a good representation and very accurate and vivid. Unlike many other scanners, ...

Great Scanner
Advantages: good quality scanning Disadvantages: software is rubbish, can take for ever to scan an image
...well so I went for HP as they are well known for good quality products.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
It can scan at up to 4,800 dpi (dots per inch)
It has 96 bit colour
It has a 216x311mm scanning screen
Connects by USB
It is 303x508x108mm (wxdxh)
It weighs 5.2 kg
So it can give you very good quality, it gets a lot of colours, it's got a decent sized scanning screen, it's pretty big and it's not a light weight utility. There is nothing in there ... ...A LITTLE BIT ABOUT IT
Scanners have been dying out because they are getting beaten by MFDs (multi-functional devices) because they scan and print it out straight off with very good quality and work as photocopiers. You can pick up a scanner for very little now but they don't have very good quality but this scanner does so it's good for me. This scanner is the first to arrive with two lamps instead of one which means it gets a much wider range of ...
