HP Scanjet 2400
Review of HP ScanJet 2400 Digital Flatbed Scanner by roneoron

Advantages: Excellent value for money. Loads of applications
Disadvantages: Install not easy with newer versions of XP

...had to resort to e-mailing hp tech support. They were brilliant, and e-mailed me yet another 'patch' to sort the problem. One would have thought that as these problems were obviously well known, then the software cd needs updating. That said , the scanner is fantastic value for money and more than satisfies my needs. I especially like the 'copy' button which scans straight to the printer. Brilliant for my wife's knitting patterns! ... Read review

Cheap, good and reliable
Review of HP ScanJet 5370C by the_man_from_del_monte

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: Dust under the scanning glass

...of the scanner is the HP logo along with the model number. On the front of the scanner is a pannel that has four blue buttons on. They are used as shortcuts to scan, fax, copy and email. I never use them, but they can be quite annoying if you knock one and it loads the scanning software on screen. Ease Of Use The scanner is easy to use, just click scan and your away, although it does have a few annoying features, like scanning in black and white ...
...you decide taht you want to save it, you have to re-scan the picture all over again. Scanning an image takes about a minute. Problems I have had the scanner for a few years now and it has not broken yet although there has been a build up of dust under the scanning screen, but this hasn't appeared to affect my scans too much. The Price I got the scanner for Christmas but after a look around the internet I found you could pick one up for about ... Read review

5300C Scanner
Review of HP ScanJet 5300C by spursand45

Advantages: Four button instant use, color scanning, .pdf files, add-on pages for e-mail, slide compatible
Disadvantages: takes up some space, older technology.

The 5300C scanner from HP has given reliable use for three years. USB connection is a plus for this older scanner. I started with Windows 98 and I am now using with Windows XP home edition. It works well with XP. HP has the drivers on it's web page to direct the user to the proper program. The color (1200 dpi resolution) is compatible with current scanners. The ability to remove the cover and place a slide adaptor is a great addition. The four-button ... Read review

Typical HP - Great Scanner, Bad Software
Review of HP ScanJet 3530C by IntrepidBear

Advantages: High Speed, High Quality, Low Cost
Disadvantages: Bad Software

...and running the software that HP included with this scanner, I was disappointed. HP has moved from no-nonsense, plain and simple software to cute, big cartoony button, first-time-user-friendly crap. As an experienced user (having had a scanner for nearly 10 years now) even I had a hard time figuring out how to make high-quality scans. The software didn't include easy links to the Desktop, "My Document", or "My Pictures" directories. Instead you have ...
...photos. Although not difficult for the seasoned XP user, its very trying for a novice. Although it is feature packed... it includes several options for printing photos in different sizes and optimizes how they fit on a page to save paper. Although it will not use photos scanned in 1200dpi when printing. It crashes the software. I believe it was a problem with the scan, rather than the printing software, as it also crashed the windows printing wizard. ... Read review

One of the best scanners I've seen
Review of HP ScanJet 3670 by 63jimruce

Advantages: Fast scan process
Disadvantages: None

...worth worrying about looks. HP is a very good company (especially with scanners and printers), they are usually very reachable and always respond quickly. They are also very good at correcting mistakes (for example: I once bought an HP printer which had a part missing from the box, within 2 days the replacement part had arrived - didn't cost a penny!). 5 stars! ...
