CanoScan LiDE 100 - I Love My LiDE

Advantages: Fabulous quality for scanned documents, both colour and B&W
Disadvantages: Somewhat slow when scanning at highest resolutions

...include here. You also have Canon ScanGear included on the software CD which is a very basic utility for scanning your items if you don’t want all the additional features offered by the other software packages included. I find my scanner very reliable - not once have I had to rescan something because it got an error halfway through and it's barely audible, i.e. pretty silent compared to my previous home scanner (which was a Mustek something or other). ...

Updating the Ark

Advantages: Low purchase price, versatility, good results
Disadvantages: It's noisy, not really for the serious photographer

...decided to go for the Epson Perfection V300 Photo scanner, which set me back £72.56 on Amazon. I have been using 3-in-1 scanners for years now, so it seemed strange to have a dedicated flatbed scanner again and whilst this model is sleek and stylish in black, it is also quite large. Fortunately it is lightweight and easy to move about if need be. The scanner came with software CD, mains adaptor, photo template and USB lead. Connecting it was trickier ...
...around this by visiting the Epson website and downloading the drivers from there, but I still was a little confused because I couldn't immediately access the instruction manual - which was, as most of these things are these days, on the CD. I managed to locate the instructions online, which was just as well as I was completely baffled as to how I could scan negatives and slides using the photo template which came with the scanner on first impressions. ...

Prints good but not for heavy printing

Advantages: Good Printing Quality
Disadvantages: Expensive to run

I bought this printer in 2006 when I bought my PC. Before that I had a printer only. This time I needed some more because of my university work. So I decided to buy all in one printer. I needed something that can print, photocopy and scan. But was the biggest mistake to buy an inkjet printer. This printer is amazing when you printer text or picture. It is amazing when printing High quality printing. Printing is a bit slow but that is expected from ...
...to 15 papers per minute depending on what you are printing. Bit slow though but its an inkjet printer. The scanner is good in quality. But it is very slow. It takes ages to warm up. However you can scan multiple documents as a one or with option to separate them as two different documents or files. You get different software in installation CD to further enhance the document. The photocopier is perfect and easy to use. There are two different buttons ...

Picture Perfect

Advantages: Versatile scanner for more detailed reproduction
Disadvantages: A bit bulky

I had an Epson perfection 1650 and it was long over due for a replacement upgrade. As I never had any real problems with my previous Epson I decided I would stick with the same brand an go for the Perfection V700 - a scanner designed specifically for photo scanning but that also acts as an all-purpose scanner. It incorporates Twain and WIA drivers that let you scan from most compatible programs. There also an optical character recognition (OCR) program ...
...downside is the tendency for Epson to produce rather bulky ugly looking scanners and the V700 certainly follows in this tradition. Setting upTo use the scanner you first of all have to unlock it. At the back of the unit you will find a transportation lock that you have to slide towards the left to unlock. The lock is only necessary during transportation and can be left unlocked during normal use. The transparency unit must also be unlocked, this ...

Advantages: ease of installation, good resolution, value for money, easy of use, great design
Disadvantages: speed in scanning

I have Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 at home. I have used this scanner since 2006 and got no problem with this scanner. Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 can be installed easily and can be operated even for beginner. It doesn't need an adaptor. The power supply comes from one USB port. CanoScan LiDE 25 has a good design. It is very slim and light, so you can bring it easily wherever you go. This is not an expensive scanner in my country, but it has a good quality ...
