Dont buy it!
Review of Mustek ScanExpress A3 USB by fsrc

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Colour sensitivity

I have bought this scanner to use in my office, and I wish I had not. It is slow and the colours it produces are useless. I wanted it to scan and copy A3 colour maps that I had produced so I could print them out and send drafts to my clients, however this machine is now collecting dust as I have gone back to my Brother A4 scanner and have to fold the maps in half and stick together later. Ordinary black pen comes out as purple, dark green pencil ...
...expect for this price? In this case absolute rubbish! I am so very disappointed in it. Does anyone make an A3 colour scanner at a reasonable price??? The only things it has going for it is that it is compact and light weight and relatively easy to use. ... Read review

HPScanjet Gh010 photo scanner
Review of HP ScanJet G4010 Photo Scanner by vancouver12

Advantages: simple instructions prints in glorious detail
Disadvantages: highlights lines, fade marks

flat bed scanners can be a joy or a nightmare when used. they can brilliantly pick out all the detail on your picture or ruin it with producing foldmarks when laid for processing. consider the use of white or black backing sheets when dealing with small pictures or 2 pictures in a group. when combining two letters into one make sure you have cut and pasted to be made 'invisable before printing'. the item is easily understood and instructions ... Canon Canoscan Lide 60
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 by alunhunt

Advantages: Compact, looks good and good scan quality
Disadvantages: None yet found

Recently bought and installed this scanner as a replacement for an old parallel port scanner on an Windows 98 system. The scanner comes well packaged with a stand, USB cable, multi langauge instructions and a installation CD. The packaging was easy to remove with no hidden bits and bobs to remove. Visually the scanner is easy on the eye in silver and black. The scanner comes with a stand so that it can be stored and used in the upright position, ...
...bugbear with flatbed scanners.) However at present it remains difficult to use in the upright position and I now only use this for storage. Installation was easy - simple instructions, one CD and a flawless install process. Remember to install the software before plugging in the scanner. The installation software contains the usual set of utilities including picture manipulation and OCR. I have not used these as I have my own favourites for these ... Read review

Review of HP ScanJet 4500C by Plymyphil

Advantages: Looks, OCR software, speed
Disadvantages: None

Thanks in advance for reading this review and like my previous hardware reviews I will try and communicate the technical specifications whilst making it readable for the average user wanting to seek advice and make a purchasing decision. I have been using this scanner fairly regularly for about six months now and feel it represents good value for money. When I purchased it from a small local computer store I paid £159.99 although it is now available ...
...convenience, check in to PC World where it is still available on the shelves at the time of writing. (December 2003.) I am more swayed in purchasing decisions by features than looks when it comes to computer hardware but this was one of those joint looks and features decisions. Let’s take a look at the individual elements that go to make up this scanner. WHAT IS IT? This is a flatbed scanner. This means it takes up a fair amount of desk space, ... Read review
