A Near Perfect Scanner
Review of Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 by anonymili

Advantages: Sooooo many features
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

We use the CanoScan Lide 25 (which I'll refer to as Lide 25 from now on) at work and a handy little scanning tool it is indeed. It's very slim and lightweight and sits nicely on my desk, ready to jump into action whenever I need to scan a document or photo. You can copy directly from the platen (glass screen) to your printer or print or even email and it's very easy to set up. AN ABUNDANCE OF FEATURES The Lide 25 uses a USB connection so ...
...handy indeed - saving on energy is always a better option. Unlike other home scanners I've used in the past the Lide 25 scans to a fairly high resolution of up to 1200 x 2400 dpi so when scanning photos you get very good quality images. The software that comes with the scanned allows you to scan documents to PDF too and you choose whether you want them in colour or monochrome or select the image quality you want from 75, 100, 200, 250, 300 or 400 ... ...pc shop as my other Mustek brokedown. upon opening was pleasently suprised by the design better than most scanners at this end of the market. but sadly did have some driver conflicts with Windows xp in the end tho got it to work perfectly on wifes pc running Windows ME. If you are looking for a no frills scanner with an up to date design just for scanning photos etc.. at home then this is the one for you. Resoulution is better than you would expect ... Read review

Lost transparancies revived
Review of Canon CanoScan 5000F by Conicview

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: character recognisition software not included

...changed. For example, the Canon Scanner absolutely dead simple to install and use. For those who enjoy being spoon fed by computers, the scanner will automatically size the objects for scanning. For example, it is a postcard, then it will just scan the postcard and not the entire surrounding area. However, you can adjust the size if necessary. There is also a choice between colour, text and black and white and a facility for gray-scaling. There are ...
...computer. It will also email scanned pictures automatically. Transparencies can also be photocopied on the scanner. The trouble with this type of photo is that a projector is necessary for viewing. With the scanner, just scan and print - bobs your uncle - there's the photo you never thought you would see again because the slide projector is broken. It makes it possible to store old photos on CD or DVD. This is a really useful facility, as old photos ... Read review

Advantages: Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice.
Disadvantages: Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load.

If you need a Sleek, High Quality and Affordable scanner, Look no further. It is so simple, Put the document in, press scan, DONE!!! I paid £50 for my scanner, the image quality is spectacular. The Pros are; Easy to use, Affordable, small design and looks really nice. The Cons are; Hinges seem flimsy and once the scanner failed to load. Another Pro is that it is small and light, which means, that if the lid falls while you are loading documents, ... Read review

HP Scanjet 2400
Review of HP ScanJet 2400 Digital Flatbed Scanner by roneoron

Advantages: Excellent value for money. Loads of applications
Disadvantages: Install not easy with newer versions of XP

...had to resort to e-mailing hp tech support. They were brilliant, and e-mailed me yet another 'patch' to sort the problem. One would have thought that as these problems were obviously well known, then the software cd needs updating. That said , the scanner is fantastic value for money and more than satisfies my needs. I especially like the 'copy' button which scans straight to the printer. Brilliant for my wife's knitting patterns! ... Read review
