Visioneer Strobe XP-200
Review of Visioneer Strobe XP 200 by
dorsetrambler
Advantages: small - takes very little desk space
Disadvantages: single sheets only - cannot be used to scan page of a book
I have been using the Visioner Strobe XP-200 for a year . This is now an essential piece of kit for me. It takes up very little room on my computer desk and sits comfortably between keyboard and monitor. It was very easy to set up and calibrate and was in full use within fifteen minutes of unpacking. Scanning is easy and fast, just insert the page to be copied, print side up, into the scanning slot and the machine will immediately start up and feed ... ...degrees and exits the scanner in a vertical(upward) direction, this allows unhampered paper feed even when the strobe xp200 is pushed right up against a monitor.
The main advantage for me is the size of the machine which means I can have a scanner right in front of me all the time. This saves a lot of time as I can scan any number of documents without having to leave my chair. ...

Easy scanning anywhere you are
Review of Visioneer Strobe XP 100 by
laramax
Advantages: Compact, easy to use, portable
Disadvantages: Can only scan single sheets
I bought my Visioneer Strobe XP 100 because it is a great little scanner for use on the move. My main PC that I use for work is a laptop with docking station and I wanted something that would easily connect with that. I needed something that would let me organise all of my documents, photos, articles, brochures, and business cards and this Visioneer gave me all of that in a very compact unit that was light and easy to carry. It will pack easily into ... ...the USB port which mean I am able to scan documents anywhere I go and I don't have to carry lots of power leads and adaptors. It is a small scanner which works by means of a roller which takes in your document through a slot on the top, passes it over the scanner, and then pushes it out through the back. Because of its method of operation it is less than 300mm wide (12") and barely 50mm deep (2") so it takes up no space at all. The downside is that ...

SCANNED AND DELIVERED
Review of Xerox 2400 OneTouch by
stuleg
Advantages: Cheap and fast
Disadvantages: None of Note
...laptops and printers was a Xerox scanner for a penny less than £35. The scant details offered in the advert showed that it was far superior to my current scanner so I headed wallet in hand to my local PC World to procure the item without delay. Now therein lays my first mistake, after a twenty minute wait the sales assistant reappeared to inform me that they had sold out there allotted shipment of scanners and that he had no idea if or when they ... ...do a search for the Xerox 2400 flatbed scanner on the internet and buy one that way. However the cheapest price I found it available at was, you’ve guessed it, at PCworld.co.uk. This wasn’t a problem though, I like PC Worlds stock it’s just the staff that let the place down, by buying from their online store I would be cutting out the morons and getting the scanner I wanted. A few mouse clicks and a credit card later I had the scanner on order for ...

lukydug
Advantages: Different varieties of use
Disadvantages: Takes time to sort it all out if you want the lot
Once again I bought this item as part of a package from PC World and once again I was Delighted.
Breaking everything down in the package this scanner cost around £75 so I was well pleased.
LOOKS AND DESIGN
A neat package that fits well into my desk layout, sitting nicely on the bottom below my printer. It is unobtrusive but easily operable due to the way the lid opens at the front allowing you to slip your item for copying into it with ease. All ... ...so easy.

Worth It !
Review of Canon CanoScan 4400F by
kel2v07
Advantages: Simple to use, Relatively Cheap, Looks good.
Disadvantages: Takes a while to install, lid hinge is awkward.
Being a Graphic Art student, during my first year of university I found myself fighting the urge to buy a scanner. However, even mounting student debts and an overdraft extension could not put me off this bargain of a scanner! Other scanners on the market either seem to have too many needless features bumping the prices up, or they are painfully slow and bulky machines that would not sit comfortably next to a new Mac. I managed to get mine for around ... ...perfect for fast but accurate scans of images, without the fuss of useless applications that clog up your memory [it works best straight through Photoshop]. The added extras like the automatic white-balancing save time, and it crops whilst in preview mode. To add to the list of necessities, it is quite light, it easy to clean, and looks sleek in silver and black. It may take a while to install but it's not complicated and is worth the wait when you ...
