Scene it (as you may guess from the name) Is aimed at movie lovers who would like to put their money where there mouths are in terms of movie knowledge!
The controllersThis game come with 4 infer-red coloured controllers. It will require plugging an infer-red detector into the usb port of the Xbox. The contollers then need to be pointed at the detector to work. This is no problem as it has plenty of lead to place on top of the TV.
There are 4 colours. Which will be you or your teams colours in the game.Controllers are responsive and easy to use. With the 4 usual butons (X, Y, A and B) down the middle. these are what you use for answering the questions. There is also a large button / buzzer at the top of the controller. This is used for the questions where you have to buzz before you can guess. It also acts as a D-Pad for navigating menus etc.
ContentThe game itself is very fun and addictive. You are asked to chose from a short, medium, or long game. Obviously giving more rounds and questions to suit how long you have to play.
Each round is different and depending on the length you have chosen, the number or questions per round will vary. There are rounds where you have to watch a clip, then answer questions about the scene, rounds where you have to listen to clips and then answer questions. Even rounds where children draw cartoons and you have to guess what film it relates to. My favourite is the projector round where an image of an actor/actress is jumbled up and slowly correcting itself. First to buzz and uess correct wins.
In total I cannot remember how many round types there are, because I know I haven't played them all yet! So there are quite a few to hold interest and not get bored of the same types of questions. The questions themselves are remembered per game, so as to reduce the repeat questions next time you play.
GraphicsThis game is not really about the graphics, there is no real need to be over the top as its more about the content of the questions. Although all vidoe clips, pictures and sounds including soundtracks and voices are originals straight from the movies. So no dodgy impressions!
PlayablityWhenever I know I am having a few friends round, this is a game I put to the top of the pile. Everyone I've ever played with has loved it and had a good time. Seeing as most of my friends are couples aswell, a bit of harmless competition is always enjoyed by all.
AchievementsBeing a 360 game, Scene It, also has the added bonus of achievements, Most are easy to achieve just friom playing through enough times. Most are for answering a certain number of questions on differing categories (e.g. 15 questions about comedy films etc)
ConclusionA great game I can see myself continuing to play with friends until we really have started to loop questions too often, which I don't think will be too soon. a shame the single player mode is not more addictive, as it is one to be played with friends. Good Clean Fun. 7/10
