Within my first week in Italy during the summer my heels began showing signs of minor cracks and roughness due to the flip flops and walking on the sand and rough pebbles etc. Since I was staying with my parents, my Mum presented me with some of her Cracked Heel Repair Cream, I think in the hope that this would stop my grumbling!
- Price -
This is currently on sale at Boots. For a 60ml tube it has been reduced from £5.49 to £4.39.
- Packaging -
This tube sits on a flip top lid and the cream is dispensed through a small hole under the lid.
- What is it? -
The information on the packaging states the following: ~ A cream to be applied twice daily to clean dry skin. ~ Repairs rough, dry, cracked heels. ~ Once the skin is restored, continue to use as necessary to maintain condition.
- Is it a success? -
The cream is white in colour has quite a slippy, oily feel to it with no obvious fragrance. It glides easily over the affected area but the downside is that it stays greasy for quite some time after applying it so don't think that you can whack it on and then put shoes straight on unless you want the cream to go on your footwear.
In short, over a one week period this did nothing to repair my rough, ever so slightly cracked heels. It did however help the dry nature of this area to some degree but my general moisturiser or even E45 does this at a much cheaper price!
All in all not a great success for me and my feet weren't that bad so I can't imagine that it would heal deep cracks in the heel. Thankfully they are back to normal due to the English weather necessitating warm socks and sensible shoes!!
