This foot spray is sold in a pressurised canister, which contains 150mls of the afor mentioned product. It’s not exactly a ‘Johnson’s’ smell but it’s pretty close. There are no odd chemical undertones as there are with some similar products; it’s purely the powder fragrance. I happen to be a lover of all baby toiletry type perfumed scents so this is just another plus point to me, but I know it won’t ... more
As I have now been a Ciao member for a while, I thought it was high time I stepped into the opinionators confessional booth and divulged a little secret to you all. I, Rachel the ratty one, have (gasp, shock, horror)…SMELLY FEET!! Not such a problem during winter months I admit, but during summer…I can actually offend myself with the pong if I’m not careful. I have tried many foot ‘deodorizing’ sprays and powders over the years with varying degrees of success. You see, the trouble is, it takes a pretty substantial product to destroy the nastiness my feet are capable of. Hats off then to Scholl Fresh Step Foot Antiperspirant Deodorant. It’s not only risen to the challenge of protecting the nation from my malodorous footsies, but also succeeded to boot!

This foot spray is sold in a pressurised canister, which contains 150mls of the afor mentioned product. It measures 18cm tall with a diameter of around 3cm (7 x 1 ½ inches) and cost me 2.49 GBP from Morrisons. The lid and the very top of the canister itself are bright yellow in colour; the rest of the container is pink in varying hues. All in all this makes it very distinctive when sat on a store shelf. ‘Scholl’ is written at the top of the can in white lettering with a dark blue background. The rest of the writing is also in white and there’s the picture of a foot outline towards the bottom front of the cylinder.
~ The Scent ~
This deodorant, as described by Scholl has a ‘baby powder’ aroma and that, from my personal experience, is exactly how I would describe the scent too. It’s not exactly a ‘Johnson’s’ smell but it’s pretty close. There are no odd chemical undertones as there are with some similar products; it’s purely the powder fragrance. I happen to be a lover of all baby toiletry type perfumed scents so this is just another plus point to me, but I know it won’t appeal to all.
~ Usage ~
Sat here now reading the back of the canister I see that Scoll’s instructions for use are as follows…”shake the can well before use, then hold 15cm from foot and spray evenly”. I had absolutely no idea that this was such an exact science!! Does this mean that you will not achieve the desired result at 14 or 16cm?!?! The mind boggles. Before my sarcastic trait runs away with me here I’d better mention that this spray is quick drying and has antibacterial ingredients that prevent odour. It dries on the foot to leave a white powdery look but it really isn’t that noticeable. However, if you’re going to be wearing very ‘open’ sandals in the summer it would probably be better to only use this on the underside of your feet, so no white marks are visible at all.
~ The Last ~
Scholl market this, as having 24-hour protection, so I guess the pressing question needing an answer at this juncture is “well DOES it”?? In my personal and smelly-footed experience the answer has to be a no, but I think that as I have such terrible feet I don’t think anyone will ever invent a product that will kill the stink for twenty-four straight hours! It does well though, better than anything else I’ve tried and believe me I think I must have tested them all out at some point or other. After applying this first thing in the morning, I only have to re-apply once during the day during the summer (in winter one spray does the job all day). I also spray my feet after my nightly bath, it keeps my little footsies fresh scented all through the hours of darkness and prevents that ‘stale’ smell in the bedroom *winks* I also spray my trainers each night, not strictly what it’s for I know, but so far so good. My footwear is still pong free, and that is a miracle trust me!!
~ Cautions ~
This is a pressurized container so all the usual safety rules apply:
-Protect from sunlight -Do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50 degrees C -Do not pierce or burn, even after use -Keep away from all sources of ignition -Keep away from eyes -Keep out of reach of children
Product specific cautions:
-Do not apply to broken or sensitive skin -If irritation develops then discontinue usage.
Common sense in other words…
~ Summing up ~
Scholl can be found in Luton…LU1 3LU. Not a very comprehensive address I know but it’s all that’s on the side of the can. Guess they just don’t want people annoying them!!
All in all, in my humble opinion, this is the best of quite a good-sized bunch of similar products on the market at the moment. It does a good job at keeping my feet sweetly smelling for hours, granted it’s not 24 hour as it says on the container, but for me, to find a deodorant that manages hours is excellent *grins*
The only downside for me is that it doesn’t keep my feet as dry as it promises it will, unfortunately. Scholl do recommend that you use this product in conjunction with their foot powder, so maybe that would solve my non stinky but a little ‘damp’ feet problem. It does bug me though that in order to solve one hassle that this product should improve they tell you to go buy another one of their foot products. Clever marketing ploy!!! For that reason only I am only going to give this 4 stars instead of the 5 it would otherwise fully deserve.
Thanks for reading and ta ta for now. You can take the clothes pegs off your noses; I have kept my feet well covered during the writing of this op!!

Advantages: Keeps feet smelling nice. Disadvantages: Takes a while to dry
...FRESH step SHOE by Scholl works in the shoe and on the sole. So no more pongee feet they’re lovely and sweet every time we meet. My husband doesn’t shout any more, he doesn’t rush to get out of the door. He sits quite still and breathes in the air a pleasant aroma greets him there.

Bought from boots, but found elsewhere now you can have a ... ...to come along and with Scholl I know I can’t go wrong. I also bought some odour eater’s, but I use this instead it’s more convenient. Advantages: Hides the smell Disadvantages: Doesn't cure the problem
...be for them, there is Scholl Fresh Step. This is an antiperspirant for your feet, which according to the can, Protects against odours, Keeps feet fresh and dry, Quick drying deodorant.
So does it do what it says it does on the tin?
Honestly, for me it doesn't do everything it says it can. For me it gives me about an hour of fresh footedness. On the initial spray of your foot, you get a slightly perfumed smell, which disguises your own odour and ... ...it does feel really good. But for me it only lasts for about an hour, and again I am burdened with that smelly, sweaty feeling. For me it is an hour, for one of my friends the fresh foot feeling lasts for about half a day, lucky them.
So the facts.
Unless you are a trained chemist, you don;t wan't to be burdened by the list of chemical contents (of course if you suffer from allergies be careful), what you want to know is how long it will last. ...
