I first noticed these when they came out, I’d seen numerous glossy adverts in magazines and advertisements on the television, and even my boyfriends mam, said they were great. I eventually got round to trying them last week. I’m a big fan of high shoes, I’m only 5”4, and I like a bit of height, so I always wear heels. Plus, my boyfriend is 6”3, and if I wore trainers it would look very odd!
Every woman knows what its like to get that horrible stinging, burning sensation on the balls of your feet after wearing your shoes for too long. Ideally these are aimed at making sure you get a good night out, and get home without this pain! There’s nothing worse than going home early because you’re feet
are killing.
Scholl’s Part Feet come in an attractive light purple and transparent plastic packet. There’s a picture of a high strappy sandal on the front, which obviously indicates what they are suitable for.
I paid £4.99 for these little babies in Superdrug. I have seen them ranging from about £4.50 to £6.00 depending on which shop you are in. Although they actually seem quite expensive, they are reusable, so you shouldn’t need to buy another pair for quite a while. The packaging claims that these are ideal for all high heels and sandals, perfect or what!?
Inside the packaging two gel fillets greet you. They look like mini chicken fillets (the type you would insert into your bra for added cleavage). They’re very thin and discreet, and are not noticeable when you’ve got them inside your shoes. They’re actually shaped quite like the lower cushion of your foot, which makes them easy to fit inside your shoe.
They’re a hardwearing type gel material, which are cushioned to help ease the pain in your feet. One side of the pad is smooth, while the other is bobbled.
After you’ve removed the pads from the packaging, you need to have a fiddle about and try them in your shoes. Obviously, the bobbly side of the pad is inserted face down into your shoe, while your foot rests on the smooth surface. This prevents the pad from slipping about.
The pads fit well into the bottom of your shoe, make sure they feel comfortable before you start walking around. I found them quite difficult to get used to. To start with, you can notice that they’re there, and the feel quite weird, after a while you do actually forget you’ve got anything in your shoe. They feel quite soft and squidgy but they’re not uncomfortable. They do make your shoes feel quite a bit tighter over the top of your feet, therefore making them quite hot and sticky. I wouldn’t wear these in shoes that were already a bit tight, because I think they’d make them uncomfortable on your feet.
I wore these shoes from leaving the house, until I got home later that night. I was out with them in my shoes for a good 5 hours, and my feet felt fine. The shoes I wore were high and very pointed and I didn’t suffer from sore aching feet once. I did notice that when my feet started to get a bit sweaty the pads moved about a bit, and I kept having to do weird stamping movements to get them back in place. Next time I use them; I’ll probably put a small sprinkling of talc in my shoes to stop my feet sweating.
Some of my friends who have tried these, suggested that I put them into my shoes whilst out, probably about half way through the night. They have all said you feel the benefits more and, the effect is noticeable to when you where them from leaving the house, as I’ve never done this I can only speculate. I would imagine that this will be just as effective, but may also be a bit of a bugger when you’re out, and you’re hobbling round the toilets trying to get them inside your shoes properly without falling over.
The Party Feet are reusable and washable, so if they get a bit whiffy, just rub them with a wet cloth. I think they’re definitely worth the £4.99 I paid, and they work well.
They’re a good product, and definitely what every woman should own.
