Basically Schwartz have come up with a range of different sauces which they say include their specially selected ingredients which complement the delicate flavours of a wide variety of fish. My favourite is the Tangy Lime and Coriander Sauce as it has a quite delicate flavour which does not overpower the fish. It is lovely and tangy too and you can definitely see ... ...Other flavours in the range to name but a few are:
Creamy Watercress and Stilton Sauce
French White Wine and Tarragon Sauce
Creamy Lemon and Parsley Sauce
The sauces come ready made in a sealed foil package. This ensures that they are still fresh when you get to them. The nice thing is that they last for a very long time. The expiration date on the last packet I used was Feb 2010. That way you can buy a ... more
I tried to eat at least one portion of fish a week, it's healthy, it contains good oils, etc and my favourite has got to be salmon. Sometimes on its own though I think fish can be fairly bland but it's hard to know what sauce to buy/make as there are not many out there. Basically Schwartz have come up with a range of different sauces which they say include their specially selected ingredients which complement the delicate flavours of a wide variety of fish. My favourite is the Tangy Lime and Coriander Sauce as it has a quite delicate flavour which does not overpower the fish. It is lovely and tangy too and you can definitely see lots of bits of Coriander in it which is nice. Other flavours in the range to name but a few are:
Creamy Watercress and Stilton Sauce French White Wine and Tarragon Sauce Creamy Lemon and Parsley Sauce
The sauces come ready made in a sealed foil package. This ensures that they are still fresh when you get to them. The nice thing is that they last for a very long time. The expiration date on the last packet I used was Feb 2010. That way you can buy a few and store them in your cupboard so you always have one handy when you get some fish. I think this is better than getting the sauces in a jar that go off fairly soon after you buy them. Also, once opened the sauces can be consumed within 3 days so you can use half and then use the other half later in the week.
A 300g pack says it serves between 2-3 people. I find it serves two of us generously with a little bit of waste but I think three is the perfect number for this sauce.
The thing I love about these sauces are that they are ridiculously easy to make. Basically you just open the packet, pour it into a saucepan and heat for 2-3 minutes, what could be simpler than that. I turn mine on to a low heat a few minutes before the fish is ready to ensure it is hot all the way through and then pour over my fish.
The sauces sell for £1.94 each in Sainsburys.
The only not so great thing is that each pack contains quite a few calories, in a 300g pack there are 648 calories so if you do eat half then that's 324 calories but not too bad as part of a healthy meal.
All in all a product I would definitely recommend.

Review of Schwartz For Fish Tangy Lime and Coriander Sauce
Advantages: By Comparison Crab Paste Tastes Nice. Disadvantages: Botulism
...this and I imagine the Schwartz 'for fish' factory as being a serious of troughs from which seagull vomit is carefully scooped by the uneducated into their unique foil bags. Retailing at about £1.70 these 300g bags are, according to Schwartz, delicious with salmon, cod and haddock. Only if you have coprophagia I submit. My advice would be to avoid this very, very unpleasant substance or, save yourself £1.70 and get a mermaid to vomit on your haddock. ...
