I have tried a lot of hair dyes, from L'Oreal, Garnier, Nice n' Easy, right through to Perfect 10 and they have all performed reasonably well, on a average scale. Recently my roots have been... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant colour, even coverage and gives great shine

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit of a devil to apply (but so are all black colours), no sachet of conditioner given

When it comes to dying my hair I find it to be the most annoying and most time consuming thing I have to do in the world, I hate it!! It's fair to say when I was hell of a lot younger than I am now I'd dye my hair for something to do and for fun and I always chose it by price rather than on the colour as I just didn't care what colour my hair was lol. I was a massive fan of reds (I'm naturally dark red) and loved my hair ginger one minute and pillar box red the next. I went purple, pink, orange you name I've been all sorts of deranged colours over the years as well as brunette and blond and ... more

5 Stars Get rid of those grey highlights!! Review with images 31/10/2006

Advantages Advantages It is cheap, permanant and covers grey.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The smell but none apart from that.

I have noticed a few grey highlights in my hair recently and started to feel like I need a colour on my hair to cover them up. It was not until I bought a car with a sun roof that I saw how many I had, the sun shone through the roof and they sparkled at me in the rear view mirror. They just happened to be right where my parting was in my hair so they stood out quite a bit. After putting it of for a few more weeks I decided it was time to dye my hair. I looked round to see if I could find one that was closest to my hair colour, this was going to be hard as the sun had bleached my normal brown ... more

    Advantages Advantages Quick and simple

    Disadvantages Disadvantages No major drawbacks

I have been having my hair trimmed regularly for some time now and every time that I walk out of the hairdressers door I have promised myself a colour to brighten up my fast greying hair. Part of me says that is vanity but there is another part of me that says that not only does a colour inject a little life into your hair it seems to make my skin look brighter too. For me the major drawback is setting aside time to `be bothered`, doesn't that sound awful! But the more I think about sitting about with my hair dripping with cold colourant the less likely I am going to be bothered to go out and ... more

    Advantages Advantages easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages not for damaged scalps

I'm at the age when a few grey hairs are begining to show, so to get my hair looking a nice shade of brown I have bought Schwarzkopf Poly Colour Tint natural brown. This is a permanent cream colour which covers grey or dyes lighter shades of hair and can be bought at chemists for £3.99 or Savers shops from £1.99 upwards. The box is a small red box with a lady on the front and the shade of hair colour can be seen, so you can get an idea of what it may come out like by looking at the box. In the box you will get a pair of gloves, a set of instructions, one bottle of Poly Colour and one tube of ... more

Advantages Advantages Good colour, Amazing price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a huge shade range, some shades will wash out.

I used this all last year when I went through my raven hair stage. I have black hair naturally but I wanted to deepen it somewhat. So I used natural black and Raven Black. They both looked lovely on the box. I am very cheap as all of my other opinions have stated but this is amazing! I went to spain last year and I found that the continent use Poly tint much more than we do, they have larger boxes and it is more of a "kit" than it is in the uk. They also have a better range of colours so if you want a better range just pop over to the continent. ANY WAY....... A permanent colour for only 1.99 ... more
