Advantages: Bill Bixby, cool intro Disadvantages: sometimes the writing was inconsistent
Dr. David Banner. Physician. Scientist.... and cult hero to any puny, geekish kids growing up in front of the TV during the late seventies/early eighties. Despite the fact that this classic television programme made virtually no attempt to remain faithful to the Marvel comic book from whence it spawned (the producers changed Banner's name from Bruce), it was one of the best genre shows of it's era, mainly because of the exceptional performance by ... ...in vain to 'find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him' i.e. former Mr Universe Lou Ferrigno, painted green and wearing a shocking wig and contact lenses. Bixby's performance was extremely sympathetic, and even though the prospect of him discovering a cure for his 'Hulkism' would signal an end to the show, viewers couldn't help but feel sorry for his rather tragic predicament. As anyone who’s ever watched the show will remember, ...

Advantages: Good story and acting Disadvantages: No extras on the DVD, basic quality
Superhero TV series are usually pretty basic. You have the hero with a secret identity and there are lots of battles. This pretty much follows the line of the comics and works fairly well in most cases. The Incredible Hulk, though, was different. In the comic, The Hulk was the main character, always using brawn over brain to win the day with pounding fists and a big mouth he was the ultimate action hero. The series, instead of taking this as a blueprint, ... ...was more about his suppression of the raging beast inside and the ability for him to fit into society than the green skinned creature of power's exploits. David was always running from the media and from life in order to find a cure for his problem and the episodes featured here play heavily on this theme. For some reason it seems the best choice too, as the show's strength lay in David Banner's suffering, with a hint of Hulk action to get the old ...

Advantages: Well made, quite well acted. Lovely theme tune. Disadvantages: The series went downhill after the first lot.
I'm writing this review because when I was about 10 years old I went through a short obsessional period on the Hulk. I loved the idea and the original series, i used to buy the comics and I even blew my premium bond win of £20 on a terrible blow up hulk who burst out of a cage. It actually was quite well made and acted by Bill Bixby as Dr Banner and had a fairly unique sense of tension as you waited for the good doc to get that little bit angrier ...

Advantages: Great entertainment Disadvantages: The cost of replacing shirts
The Incredible Hulk….. So how many of you out there recall this series which starred Bill Bixsby as the poor Dr Banner,by the way do you also recall Bill Bixsby as the Magician..it was a great show too. Anyway back to the character from those great Marvel comics,The Incredible Hulk,I don’t know what made me pick this subject,I heard someone mention it on the radio and I thought why not. The Hulk was a green character, big and bulky with ... ...that Dr Banner turned into the Hulk but only when he got angry. This all started when the good Doctor was experimenting as good Doctors do,and he was hit by Gamma rays which, yes you guessed turned him in to this green thing with an attitude. In my house vodka has the same effect. Needless to say each week our good Doctor befriends someone but as he is now becoming well known as you would if you became a green monster,he is being tracked by a male reporter ...

Green With Rage Review ofSci-Fi - The Incredible Hulkby
johnt
Advantages: special effects Disadvantages: bit repetitive
I remember this one from the late '70s, it was compulsive viewing along with the Six Million Dollar Man. At the start of every episode the narrator would remnid us that "Dr David Banner was accidently injected with an overdose of gamma rays", this caused him to lose control and burst out of his clothes into the almost uncontrollable green monster. The Hulk always battled the forces of evil and would always win in the end. This part was played by ... ...of a man. Paint him green and give him those memorable green flourescent contact lenses and it was enough to scare anyone in his path. David Banner spent his time trying to find the antidote to his condition and the rest of his time ripping his way out of his clothing into the Incredible Hulk. Quite sad really. ...

'Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry'. As a kid I became a huge fan of the Hulk, after hearing that immortal line, so I waited in anticipation for this game and my chance to 'get angry'. How disappointed I was.
