Its not cricket
Advantages: Very funny Disadvantages: none
...word processor of Douglas Adams Life, make reading Life, the Universe and Everything a very pleasurable experience
This is the 3rd (but not final) book in the Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy Trilogy, but don’t worry you don’t have to have read the preceding books to make sense of this one, just remember it’s not meant to make sense.
The story starts with Ford and Arthur stranded in Earth’s pre-history, however they ... ...at Lords cricket ground just as England retain the Ashes (Cricket lovers will obviously notice at this point that this is a work of fiction). After the excitement of time travel, and an English win at cricket the crowd at MCC are further treated by the appearance of a spaceship from which deadly robots appear, killing and maiming all and sundry with cricket bats, before stealing the ashes and disappearing as suddenly as they appeared.
But what’s ...

Hells Gate
Advantages: Not that bad Disadvantages: not that good either
Hell's Gate.
=
The story starts centred around Arcana, a planet and a universe where magic actually works. Their whole culture and the expansive civilisation on the outer planets all depend on magic. Their magicians one day make a discovery and open a hole through space and so their exploration of other universes begins. They grow even richer and more bolder as time passes until one day they come across the Sharona's.
The Sharona's universe ... ...field. Soon a culture clash happens and the two societies are at war.
The tunnel through space becomes known as Hells Gate because to the 'magic' society technology is evil and demonic.
All efforts are made to close the gate but soon things will take an unforeseen turn and hell in both universes will really be unleashed.
They space battles are written quite well and easy understandable. The dialogue however is poor and none of the characters are ...

Darth Bane: Rule Of Two ... a dark and disturbing sequel !!!
Advantages: Great sequel, strong characters, gripping storyline !!! Disadvantages: erm ... waiting for the third book in the trilogy !!!
...to many fans of the Star Wars movies]. Rain becomes Darth Zannah and together with her master [Darth Bane] they wage a war not only on the Jedi but also on the Sith ... Bane's paln is to create a myth surrounding his existence and create fear through deception and lies.
However, a Jedi named Johun Othone beleives the Sith Order to be alive [despite the fact that it would appear that the entire Sith Army has been destroyed] and he pursues Bane, believing ... ...What follows is in intriguing tale ... and a fascinating insight into Sith lore.
Highly recommended ... "When your power eclipses mine I will become expendable. This is the Rule of Two: one Master and one apprentice. When you are ready to claim the mantle of Dark Lord as your own, you must do so by eliminating me." ...

Closer to Heaven
Advantages: Great character building Disadvantages: A little slow paced for my taste
Fantasy and science fiction are genres that mesh well together. Some authors have written successfully across both genres, but not usually in the same story. Jaine Fenn has managed to combine both in one book and it's an interesting read. One night, a stranger is found lying unconscious in a bog just outside the village of Dangwern. He appears to have come from nowhere and, apart from a strange piece of cloth lying near his naked body, there is nothing ... ...Unfortunately, this includes the stranger himself, as he is suffering from amnesia and has no idea even where he is, much less how he came to be there. Fortunately for Sais, as he is nicknamed, the boy who finds him is "sky touched". This means he is soon to travel to the City of Lights to be tested to see if he is worthy of being a consort of the goddesses. The village elders permit Sais and the boy's mother Kerin to accompany him to see if anyone ...

It is not just about football!
Advantages: It's very funny, and oh so true! Disadvantages: None
The Disc, for those who don't know, continues to float in space, supported by the elephants who ride the back of the great swimming turtle A'tuin. The Hub about which the planet spins is a centre of great magic, and best avoided if you want to live a happy and contented life. At the outer perimeter is the great circle sea which unendingly streams over the rim into the void, which is best avoided if you want to continue to live at all. Most Discians ... ...Smeems, for instance, is the Candle Nave at the Unseen University. He has to worry about keeping the candles not just alight, but properly melted, artistically, gothicly, dribbled, as it were. Of course, there's Trevor to help. And there's Nutt. With two t's. Trevor Likely has a tendency to skive off work whenever possible, and to kick a tin can around. His dad was a legend. Nutt is… well, no-one's quite sure what Nutt is, even him. Goblin isn't ...
