Disadvantages: Can't really find any faults with this book !

More whales!

Advantages: Pretty good plot. Quite exciting.
Disadvantages: Takes a while to get going, and James Doohan isn't Scottish! I feel cheated!

This is actually a review of the audio version of this novel, a 3 CD set available from Simon and Shuster audio (ISBN: 067101093X). It's read by James Doohan (Scotty in the show). Closer to Heaven

Advantages: Great character building
Disadvantages: A little slow paced for my taste

Fantasy and science fiction are genres that mesh well together. Some authors have written successfully across both genres, but not usually in the same story. Jaine Fenn has managed to combine both in one book and it's an interesting read. One night, a stranger is found lying unconscious in a bog just outside the village of Dangwern. Advantages: It's very funny, and oh so true!
