I am Legend
Review of I Am Legend DVD by lizzie71

Advantages: Unique storyline, with upto date issues
Disadvantages: none

...his state of mind. I found this film quite tense as you weren't sure how safe he was as he travelled through New York and much tension is derived from using the shadows and the unknown and i also found it poignant, what he finds to do all day as a lone survivor in New York and how being alone affects him and how he manages to survive, find food and a purpose to living all add to his story. This also helps us reflect on what effect mankinds constant ... Read review

Going Ape
Review of Planet Of The Apes DVD by johnsy32

Advantages: Very good make-up and costumes, great twist at the end
Disadvantages: Not a film to be watched over and over

Planet of the Apes is a re-make of a previous film by the same name. I had only seen bits of the original film and I thought I knew what the story line was but with this remake it had been altered and brought up to date. The acting is pretty good, but it's hard to really enjoy it when you know in the back of your head that it's just actors and actresses prancing about in costume, but if you can look past that, the film can be enjoyable. I have watched ...

Have you Seen the Signs?
Review of Signs DVD by IzzyS

Advantages: Very absorbing, suspenseful, Good performances
Disadvantages: The ending (somewhat anti-climactic and the visuals of the aliens), a bit too 'Hollywood' perhaps

...main acting cast) - Signs is all about the Hess family, who are recovering after the sudden death of their wife and mother, Colleen (played by Patricia Kalember). The father, Graham Hess (played by Mel Gibson), has recently given up being a Reverend/priest, as he questions faith due to what happened to his wife. He lives at home on a farm with his sons Merrill (layed by Joaquin Phoenix) and Morgan (played by Rory Culkin) and his daughter Bo (played ...
...- My Thoughts/Opinions - Signs is a suspenseful science fiction thriller, brought to you by the director of other similar movies like the Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and The Village, M. Night Shyamalan. This movie has some of the usual elements of his other movies, although one thing thats slightly different is that your shown more, visually, at certain points towards the end of the movie mostly, of the aliens or presence there, though even then its ...
