Sensor- The robot can sense when someone is near and will say several phrases including PLEASE SAVE TODAY plus many others, he also moves his arms and lights up. This can drive you crazy sometimes and makes me jump if i forget about him at night. You can turn the sensor off.
Batteries - The batteries were supplied with all our robots so i think this must be standard but please check this out when buying. If not supplied you will need 4 AA batteries.
Suitable from the age of 6 years - You need a little understanding of what your doing but the instructions are simple enough to follow.
Why i recommend him?
My son received a Robot Bank for Christmas 2005 and when everyone else saw it they all wanted it. Now Daddy, Sister, Auntie and Cousin all have one in there collection. I also wanted one but think we have enough of them in our house at the moment to cope with. What is the attraction of this little robot? When i asked everyone the replies were that He's cool, Funny, and gives them the motivation to save. Since my son and daughter got one they have saved and saved and can afford more bits and bobs now. Its just something about this robot that everyone just loves so go on buy one for someone or yourself, you will love it.
Advantages: Encourages child to save, aids counting, Looks great! Disadvantages: American voice, have to reset when batteries run out!
I bought this for my son's Christmas as a little extra present I thought he might like. Before this purchase he was forever emptying out his old piggy bank and counting his pennies the miserly little sod. Now a little bit about my son, He is 7 and a half years old, and doesn't like spending his own money if he can help it (yup I've taught him well) Every time we go shopping he asks for something, I usually say of course you can have it….if you have ... ...about wanting it!
So back to the Bank…..
I paid £19.99 for this from Argos and is also available from www.sciencemuseumstore.com for same price…It is still available in the new catalogue too from Argos. Not only is this a bank but it is also a handy little alarm clock! It takes 2 AA batteries which are inserted into the back of the robot, This is easily opened with a cross screwdriver, and easily closed again. You must press the reset button every ...

Advantages: Great Gadget, Encourages Kids to Save, Appeals to Adults too! Disadvantages: Slightly annoying voice after a while!
This little fellow caught my eye when I was searching for items for my son's new Space themed bedroom!

This Robot talks, counts, has blue eyes that flash, moves its arms & verbally encourages you to save your money!
The robot recognises coins, and keeps a running total of your savings for you. Just press Balance and it will tell you how much ... ...on the Robot. When activated by movement, it will say one of the following:
"Have a nice day."
"How do you do?"
"Hi"
"Hello"
"How are you?"
You can even set yourself goals - a cash amount & the time in which you want to save it. When there is a target set, that has not yet been reached, the Robot will use one of these phrases:
"Don't forget to insert coins today!"
"I'm hungry. Please fill me up!"
"Please remember to save today!"
"You have ...

Advantages: Tells time, records your balance and entertaines any child Disadvantages: Talks whenever you pass it (can get annyoing)
This is a great present for any kid. A talking robot that keeps an eye on the cash balance. This is a great and fun way for a child to store their money. The robot bank talks and so tells you the exact balance that you have at any time. This is a fun interactive feature which any child (or childish adult) will love. It has slot recognition and this is how it inputs the amount you have into its memory which is extremely helpful as opposed to inputting ... ...also helps you to keep a track of the withdrawals you make asking you if you are 'sure you want to withdrawal'. Your child can make themselves targets that they want to reach and the robot bank actively encourages you to make this target, this kind of encouragement is wholly positive for me and I think it'll help your child to better take care of their money. The robot bank display shows the time; date, day and the month so can be used as a clock ...
