...Strangely, the Combined Sciences degree at Nottingham Trent University is administered by the department of Maths, Stats and O.R. This causes more than a few beauracratic headaches. Overall though, the teaching of life sciences within NTU is very tight. Based within a seemingly ever-expanding science building on the Clifton campus, this course is a modular one, sharing many common parts with widely differing courses. This approach leads to one in which the lecturers become very adept at teaching the same material. Another by-product is that their is the possibility of some interesting cross-discipline final year dissertations, which may not be possible in a less modular course. ...This review is intended not only for those deciding between which university they may choose to do a physics degree, but also, for those who are trying to decide if physics is the degree for them. The physics department at UCL is a somewhat medium sized department, with approximately 140-170 new undergraduates joining each year. Located in the very heart of the main university campus, with libraries, cafeteria, student union, theatre, several museums, and transport links all within 5 minutes walk away, and only a 15 minute bus ride to Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street, so everything really is close at hand. The department itself seems to lack charm, and could do with some modernisation to make it more welcoming, although, this is now slowly taking place. Disadvantages: Small campus with only a student union shop

...Centre plus the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development. I have recently completed a modular degree at this University based at the Bedford Campus and would recommend it. Sport Studies, Education including Teacher Training or Dance and/or Drama are all high profile courses taught at Bedford. The university provides a multitude of courses (at other campus’) in areas including Agriculture, Business, Computing and Design, Engineering, as well as Health, Humanities, Law, the Arts and the Sciences. The campus at Bedford is split into two sites, which are about two miles apart. It also has a community theatre, swimming pool, dance plus movement studios, two libraries, gymnasium and what all students like to hear two, yes two Student Union bars.
