Why have I got this book?
A Geordie work acquaintance bought it for 3 mates and I, following a weekend bender earlier this year, with the focal points of all piss taking directed at her Geordie accent and my dulcet Scouse tones! You can imagine the fun I am sure (yawn ..!)
I love accents and think they are fascinating, not because I am from an area that has a particularly famed one itself, but because of the fact that it can almost help to create a whole new language. For example, any Englishman trying to understand a Glaswegian in full flow...

Advantages: Great read Disadvantages: You can't put the book down
...'Abomination' is an exciting thriller which once you have started you can't put down. The book begins by describing the two main characters, Martha ans Scott who take it in turn, chapter by chapter to tell their side of the story. Martha comes from a strict religious who believe in no T.V and hand made clothes. For this reason no one is her friend. Scott is new at school and becomes friendly with Martha after this Scott is bullied. Martha and Scott become close friends until Scott wants to go to Martha's house. The problem is abomination. Martha's family doesn't want anyone to find out about it. Later on in the story Scott does find out what Abomination is and wants to help Martha. The book leads to an unpredictable ending, when you find out what Abomination really is. You can buy this in book stores for £3.99....

Advantages: 'Some' new stuff and its as funny as usual Disadvantages: Not all if it is new material
...Scott Adam's insight and anicdotes from the world of corporate stupidity never fails to raise a smile... then a chuckle ... A laugh ... and on till your gut aches. Mainly because we ALL know someone, some petty minded, jobsworth little manager (with or without pointy hair) or some short balding workshy individual who would actually be good at his job if only he'd use half the effort that he puts into making up excusses to skive.
If this is the only Scott Adams you are going to buy, go right ahead, you won't regret it. However, if you already have a few, be prepared for a small amount of disapointment. A reasonable proportion of the cartoons and the anicdotes, you have seen before.
Perhaps its Scotts own sence of humour at work, duplicate at least a quarter of his new book by reprinting stuff from old ones and then write "Selling bad...
