The Most Passionate Love Story You Will Ever Read
Review of Endless Love - Scott Spencer by eve6kicksass

Advantages: Classic, unforgettable, sensual, and powerful......An Emotionally Shattering Novel!!!
Disadvantages: absolutely nothing

...Have you ever heard that song by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross entitled "Endless Love"? Adam Sandler mentions it in the ice skating sequence in HAPPY GILMORE, and the song is then played as he admits he had a crush on Brooke Shields, who starred in the dreadful 1981 adaption of the heartbreaking, emotionally shattering 1979 novel by Scott Spencer. I've read this novel at least five times, and it gets better and better every time I read it, even more so because it creates a much higher emotional response every single time I pick it up. Read carefully, dear readers, and discover one of the most... Read review

A Kate to Remember
Review of Kate Remembered - A.Scott Berg by ickkate

Advantages: A personal sketch of a vigorous woman filled with plenty of insight and information
Disadvantages: It may not have quite the objectivity some might want from a biography and glosses over her later television films

...of her films, I also wanted to know a little more about the "weaker" television films that she made towards the end of her career that were not described. After all, the films are how we know Hepburn and what makes us want to read about her. Ultimately though, I can't bring myself to consider this as much of a disadvantage when the affection and intimacy give him the ability to make such profound insights as those he makes about the most important relationship of her life: her 26 year relationship with Spencer Tracy and his alcoholism. Kate's response seem to suggest that she may have revealed more than she thought to her dear friend - no doubt a reason why she wanted this biography to be published after her death. A Scott Berg has written a wonderful book that paints a picture of the energetic woman behind the icon. Although his writing... Read review

Review of Abomination - Robert Swindells by Mikew79

Advantages: Great read
Disadvantages: You can't put the book down

...'Abomination' is an exciting thriller which once you have started you can't put down. The book begins by describing the two main characters, Martha ans Scott who take it in turn, chapter by chapter to tell their side of the story. Martha comes from a strict religious who believe in no T.V and hand made clothes. For this reason no one is her friend. Scott is new at school and becomes friendly with Martha after this Scott is bullied. Martha and Scott become close friends until Scott wants to go to Martha's house. The problem is abomination. Martha's family doesn't want anyone to find out about it. Later on in the story Scott does find out what Abomination is and wants to help Martha. The book leads to an unpredictable ending, when you find out what Abomination really is. You can buy this in book stores for £3.99.... Read review
