Advantages Handy, good for my kitchen worktop
Disadvantages None
I read a review on Ciao recently about this scouring pad holder and it sounded like something I needed so went to find one in Lakeland.
This is such a simple product but a handy product and not something I would have thought existed if I had not read the review in the first place. I have a butler sytle ceramic sink and surrounding it is a wooden work top in both directions. The worktop is lovely but you have to be really careful with it and make sure you look after it. We oil it regularly to stop it drying out but still we know to never leave anything wet on it so it will not soak through the wood and make it go mouldy. This leaves the dilema of where to leave the washing up pads. I don't really like to leave them in the sink as they go a bit soggy and get all smelly so this little scouring pad holder has been a good little tool for the sink.I hook it over the overflow gap that we have in the sink and it fits there quite nicely. The holder is a little mesh holder and the pads sit in there nicely and this allows them to dry out and not get all smelly and soggy which is nice. Then when I need to use it again it is there ready to go. The holder does not take up that much room in the sink and as I am a person who washes dishes under a running tap anyway to be able to rinse off all the soap then this doesn't get in my way when I am washing up. It measures 15 x 10 x 12 cm. If it does ever need cleaning itself say if it gets any stray bits of food in it etc, I just rinse it under the tap and it is clean again, no need to dry as you are putting a wet sponge into it anyway.
To be honest I have never used it as a cutlery holder so I cannot comment on the usefulness of this element but as a scouring pad holder this is a nice little addition to your sink.
