Advantages Advantages Some good puzzling to be had

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

It occurred to me whilst playing this game that I seem to be on a puzzle streak just now. Just finished playing Professor Layton and now Scribblenauts, which is another puzzle game. Initially while playing this you’d be forgiven for thinking it is a children’s game, because certainly the earlier puzzles do seem a bit easy to solve, but this changes and as it does you have to continually change the way you think. The puzzles initially seem like they may be simple to crack but on actually trying to complete them you soon discover that a serious bit of thought is going to be required. You are ... more

Advantages Advantages fantastic gameplay, great longevity

Disadvantages Disadvantages some niggles with controls and physics

In theory Scribblenauts is a fantastic concept, take simple puzzles and give the player the power to summon any concievable object in order to solve said puzzle. A truely fantastic concept which i have been looking forward to, and in the most part was very impressed. There are just a few niggles which disappoint me with this game, let me explain..... THE GOOD From the start you are set out with a few rules on what you can and cannot summon, it has to be real (so my idea of the omnipotent puzzle solving machine went out of the window) it cant be a copyrighted product (so no nike air max or ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing concept. Sucks you in. Hours of replay value. Level editor mode. Massive dictionary.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Annoying control system. Confusing levels.

For years games developers have been delving there big, hairy hands in the bottomless pit of ideas, pulling out all sorts of ridiculous concepts that they believe are ‘new’ and ‘exciting’. Often, they’re far from it, and by the time they whack out there seemingly great ideas, there’s an equally un-cool generic hero completing similar tasks in an equally substandard game, meaning there months upon months of hard work sweating away behind a computer have been pretty much pointless. When Scribblenauts was announced, it was immediately praised for being an ingenious, clever and a downright ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant gameplay, clever, endless options - play it your way

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get a little boring

Scribblenauts is one of the most impressively inventive, wonderful, ingenious games to be released on the Nintendo DS since its birth a few short years ago. Nintendo's touch-screen device has been celebrated in its evolution as a puzzle solving, lifestyle-orientated device, that appeals to the whole family, and this game is a definite must have. Scribblenauts is based around the adventures of Maxwell, a funky little guy that spends his time running round a little world trying to get all the Starites. Starites, unsurprisingly, are just little gold stars that reward you for completing a level ... more

Advantages Advantages over 22,000 items, over 200 levels, basic level editor, download and share new levels,

Disadvantages Disadvantages controls take a while to get used to, short longevity,

Upon opening this game, and being very excited due to the endless hype and hilarious E3 demo, I didn't care for the levels; I just wanted to test out the dictionary! With over 22,000 items at my disposal, if I could possibly think of that many items, I began with silly, small things like common animals and everyday objects. But before long I was literally using a brain control device on a T-Rex and ordering it to attack what or whoever I wanted (God, a Velociraptor ;) and even a Griffin!). This accounted for the first day, atleast, of enjoyment with this game; I'd completely forgotten there ... more
