My computer will never be the same again! After installing it I could already notice a major difference. I upgraded from a 250gb WesternDigital to the 750 gb Seagate Barracuda.

PROS/CONS:

Although most people wont need a hardrive this size to do the basics of any office applications or internet use. This hard drive is for the people who run network drives and do alot of video editing and the like.
Just make sure you remove the jumper before you use it as this limits it to standard SATA speed and is fitted by default. The storage capacity is brilliant and access speed to the stored data is lightening quick. It has increased the performace of my computer 100%. I do alot of video editing and game playing so this was ideal for me.
The hard drive is just as quiet to run as any other lower capacity hard drive, although the main problem I found was that it heats up alot quicker and higher than a smaller drive. I highly recommend if you are installing this hard drive that you also invest in some extra cooling for your case.
If you are a novice at upgrading or building computers then I would recommend seeking some experienced help when installing this item. As I still run on Windows XP, when I first installed the drive, it didnt reconise it as a 750 GB hard drive and only showed it at a portion of what it really was. I had to use Partition Manager to release the full spec onto my pc. Once installed though, it runs as a typical Seagate Drive does. Very reliable. My other concern with this hard drive was the price. Although it has dramatically fallen since I bought mine. I still think you could set up a RAID with two 400GB drives for slightly cheaper.

This Hard drive is the future of computing. But I think that the average home user wont really have a need for this capacity until further in the future. If you want to build that mega storage computer, then this is the hard drive for you. If you just want a little more space to store extra pics then I would recommend waiting until the prices fall and upgrade with a RAID.

If you have the budget and a bit of computer know how, then I highly recommend that you upgrade to the Seagate Barracuda 750GB.
