On the Square

Advantages: Good location, good standard, clean and pleasant
Disadvantages: A bit anonymous

The Square is a mid priced hotel situated in the heart of Copenhagen, on Radhuspladsen and overlooking Tivoli Gardens. A short walk from the Central Station it is very handy for transfers from the airport and provides an excellent base for touring the city. Part of the ARP-Hansen Hotel Group it is one of several hotels in Copenhagen and like their other properties offers a good standard of accommodation geared towards the modern business or tourist traveller. Location ~ Despite the claims that the hotel overlooks Tivoli gardens this is somewhat misleading. Granted, from the top (6th) floor you can see the giant Tivoli sign but that's about it. Review of The Square, Copenhagen

Feel the Steel

Advantages: Good, solid intro to the band, heavy rock at its finest.
Disadvantages: Bit of a 'quiet' production.

This band don't just 'rock,' they ''wrowkk!'' I still have vivid memories of waking one Christmas morn to see that the big white bearded guy in the red outfit had left me this album in my Christmas stocking, along with another ''Rush'' album, 'All the world's a Stage.' I must admit that at the time I was more impressed with the latter of the two. I found 'Caress of Steel' a big fat disappointment. I had heard the opening track before and loved it, but the rest just seemed a bit lame. Before I continue, I will just say a few words about Rush because there are always going to be people out there who wonder, ''Rush''? Who the heck are they then?' They were formed in Toronto in 1969 by Geddy Lee on Bass, Alex Lifeson on Guitars and John Rutsey on Drums. They started life as Led Zeppelin wannabes but soon developed their own sound ...

Review of Caress Of Steel - Rush

The Steel Witches

Advantages: Fabulous story excellently told
Disadvantages: None

out the very good summary on the inside cover of the book. I liked the idea of this Private Detective being dragged back into his families past to somehow solve a mystery that dated back to the 17th century. On this basis I thought it sounded well worth a read. I didn?t immediately get into this novel, but it did have me intrigued. Why was Tom?s father ringing him early in the morning with such a weird message? But not only that, why had they not spoken to each other for 18 years? I didn?t take to Tom instantly as his life seemed too settled and organised and he seemed quite sure of himself. However as the superbly crafted story slowly unfolded, the author bought in new characters and a whole new set if issues into the melting pot that needed investigating. There were so many avenues, so many possibilities it was impossible to see ...
