The idea is, you have a small pump, which you attach to your electric drill, then use it to pump whatever you need to. When not in use, the pump takes up little room, it does not rust, and it is there ready for use when the time comes.

Your drill must be rated at 350 watts or more, and there is no filters to worry about, whatever goes in the inlet, is supposed to go through the system & out of the outlet. In these days of flooding, it is a handy thing to have around. The output is not fantastic at 1000 litres per minute, although this is a tonne of water. Your drill must be rated at 350 watts or more, and there is no filters to worry about, whatever goes in the inlet, is supposed to go through the system & out of the outlet. You will of course require electricity, but if your power supply has been interrupted, then you are likely to need more than one of these. The pump is designed to be used at 3000 revolutions per minute, and will handle liquids and semi solids. The inlet and outlets are both half inch bore, and are fitted with quick release couplings.
If you have a garden pond that needs emptying from time to time, of you are digging footings that tend to fill with water, then this may be just the job. You will find many more uses for these pumps once you have one, and you will find they get borrowed a lot. I have used mine for pumping out a cellar, emptying cisterns, as well as flooded boats.
As for the noise, well, they are as noisy as the electric drill that drives them. They are self priming, and will lift up to about 3 metres. These are also Made in Britain.
As long as you accept their use is limited, you will be more than happy with them. They are on sale at a lot of places nowadays, including the larger DIY superstores. Expect to pay under ten Pounds, although at this time of year they can be found cheaper.
