Advantages Advantages Car like performance and handling, value for money.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Seat Dealer Servicing Quality and Warranty Back-up.

I bought my Seat Alhambra 110bhp 1.9 TDI S in Nov '99. The deal I got on this car was very good. A great Seat Finance deal of 4.7% APR meant only £1060 interest on £16000 borrowed over 3 years. Coupled with an extra £1100 trade-in allowance for my Mondeo if I bought the actual car in the showroom. It was the exact spec and colour I wanted, although in this situation you must always say that the colour is the one you hate so as to put the salesman under further pressure. However, protracted haggling and playing one dealer off against another further enhanced the deal with discount on alloy ... more

Advantages Advantages Powerful, quick and flexible

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit of a tank

I’ve written previously here about Mrs D’s preoccupation with cars, and, more particularly, her deep-seated desire and need to buy new ones. I've refrained from writing about her latest escapade for almost six months now, but I can hold back no longer. It is getting on for almost half a year now since she had her latest brainwave and decided that the Honda CRV which he had only 18 months previously was really not for her and she desperately needed a new car. Of course, it went a little bit deeper than that. Some time before she had been in a little bump with another vehicle. It is a long story ... more

Advantages Advantages does the job, no airs and graces.

Disadvantages Disadvantages needs a six banger oiler under the hood.

I ran a 1.9 Alhambra as a company jallopy back in 2001 whilst living and working in the Netherlands. Initially after coming from the company Merc I was a little apprehensive to change up to what looked like quite a boring car, how wrong I was. My work necessitated a little more interior space for camera and photographic equipment which I frequently hauled all over Eastern Europe and in this Department the Alhambra excelled, of course i suffered with the failed air con condenser, something Seat now admit was a design flaw, but apart from that the Alhambra was a top performer. when I recently ... more

Advantages Advantages Fairly high spec on even oldest models

Disadvantages Disadvantages Interior damages very easily, with children & load.

We bought our R reg. Seat Alhambra in December 2000. It was a used car with a high mileage bought through the auctions. The high mileage was built up from long distance driving, not city driving, so that helped. The car was in very good condition and worked like a dream. It had been owened by a company befor and so had been well looked after. When expecting our 3rd child, our 1st being only 4 and a half, we deliberated long and hard about which car to buy, which would comfortablty take 3 child car seats. We soon discovered that our choices were limited and that only an MPV would do the job ... more

Advantages Advantages very reliable and economical, good driving position and very easy to drive. All in all a very good buy

Disadvantages Disadvantages The only real disadvantage we have found has been the firmness of the seats.

I purchased this car from new in October 2000. I wanted a good quality family vehicle that would be reliable. This was the most I had ever paid for a car but it has been well worth it and I would by another. I was attracted by the parts that came as standard on the model which were extras on all others we had looked at. It is a great handling car, much easier to park than I ever thought for its size and it looks good. I would recommend it to anyone. It is so versatile. Since buying the car we have taken it to Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and never encountered a single problem ... more
