I have owned my 04 registered Seat Ibiza for 12 months now I have had no Problems with the car and has just flown though its first mot at 41000 miles, I Use the car daily on minor roads to my place of work and I also travel on the motorway daily to see my fiancee, this totals up to about 20 miles a day, 140 a week, whilst on the subject of miles I will start this review for you with with the MPG
I travel 40 miles per week in this little car and i manage to get away with only £20 petrol per week, this is great as im on a very tite budget i was amazed at how long a full tank lasted me the needle just dosent seem to move, personaly i can be a little heavy on the pedal but hey, if you driveing one of these you can afford to, ( I See the MPG most appealing)
The car is powerd be a three cylinder 12 valve engine, the car is very nippy due to its lower gear ratio, this can a problem on the motorways as at 70 MPH your revs are on the high side. this car enjoys to be driven around 30 mph going back to the gear ratio being low is pulls quiete nicely in 5tgh gear at this speed, tho i would say 3rd is most flexible.
this model ibiza has remote central locking, if you forget to lock the car it will lock itslef after 5 minutes, also all doors lock if the cars travels higher than 10mph
The interior of this car is very spacious for a small engined car the boot is big enough for a small familys weekly shop, the rearseats fold down nicely to create more space th you do have to remove the atual seat cusions from the car to atualy do so. if you are going for a model with fabric seats like mine please be aware that they retain dirt and stains mine are getting very grubby and dont seem to clean well.
the interior lights in this car on all controls and dials are red in colour and are very bright so everything can be seen well. I have aircon as an extra in my car, its not very powerful but does the job if need be, dont expect anything special in the summer months. i will also add that i have chrome interior door handles and air vents as an optinal extra i would recomend thses as the contrast very well with the rest of the black dash.
I have trouble replacing any bulbs on this car, all the bulbs are located inside seperate units theses have to be completly removed from the var bfore you can change them. this is very fiddly and i nearly broke one unit in the process. everything else is very easy to maintain water/oil/wishwipers....
The only safety features on this casr appart from compulsory seatbelts is the twin airbag system. i cannot comment on its performance as i have never had to experiance its benifits, if any.
