These days buying a diesel is not only about fuel economy, and the Leon TDi 110 is a perfect example. It has excellent low end torque, and due to it’s long gearing makes it a quiet motorway cruiser. Equipment levels are very good for the price, and in SE trim it gets the sports interior and suspension from the Cupra models. When compared to the Audi A3 and VW Golf that it is based on you realise it’s value for money even more, especially as it handles far better than even the Golf 1.8T GTi. I have found that the dealer network is also very helpful with any queries, and have sorted out problems without having to keep phoning for an update. All in all I feel the Leon TDi a worthy alternative to the Golf, Focus or Astra. I have also found that the interior is very resistant to wear, after 1 year and 24,000 miles the seat don't have any wear marks or sagging that can effect some cars. My car is a 2000 X-reg 1.9SE TDi 110.
