Its not a major criticism, it's just this is an honest review and I wouldn't want anyone to buy it thinking its going to stop chipping. That said, It does make your polish much longer lasting.

The mother does nails as part of her beauty room business, and has used Seche Vite on clients and for personal use for years. She bought it from Sally's hair and beauty supplies but it is widely availabe over the internet - I bought mine from ebay at just under £6 per bottle (plus postage) for a 0.5oz bottle.
Basically, the formula penetrates through the nail polish to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a very durable finish. The official blurb is that its guaranteed not to yellow which I have indeed found to be true. It also says it absolutely will not chip - sadly I have NEVER found a product that eliminates chipping, and seche vite, wonderful though it is, is not about to change that. Its not a major criticism, it's just this is an honest review and I wouldn't want anyone to buy it thinking its going to stop chipping. That said, It does make your polish much longer lasting.
Firstly apply a base coat (this is important as seche vite bonds with it) followed by your nail polish. To apply, you get a nice bead of it on your brush and wipe it over your freshly painted wet nails. The consistency is quite thick and gloopy but very smooth. It gives your nails an ultra glossy sheen and also smooths over any glitches in your nail colour. It also acts as a fast dry product and my nails are touch dry in a couple of minutes. It does take longer for them to harden though.
It just gives your nails such a high polish finish they look that bit more professional - it also serves to make a cheaper polish look better and last longer. I really notice it when I haven't put it on, my nails look dull and flat.
If you are into your nails this is an absolute must have!
Summary: Ultra glossy finish - a must have for nails!
Advantages: Quick drying, glass-like finish, long lasting Disadvantages: Your friends will want it !!
Unlike other top coats this is undoubtably the best, it has a glass like finish and dries quickly no matter how many coats of nail varnish you have on. I have quite long nails and a bottle of this in the 15ml size will last me about 3 months using it 2 - 3 times a week. After applying your nail varnish or treatment, of any make, simply load up your brush, so one side has enough on to coat the whole nail, brush on and watch as it smooths the colour ... ...the finish is glass like and works on pearly or solid colours. The finish lasts until you remove it, it does not dull or fade and you add use it to spruce up your nails/manicure as a quick fix if you do not have time to remove your varnish and start again. Good Value for money as a 15ml bottle is about £6 - £8 but lasts well without going gluppy. I can not think of any diadvantages to the product apart from maybe keeping hold of it as your friends ...
