Elizabeth McGregor is the author of several powerful novels in which the psychological conflicts of the characters are paramount. (Probably her best known book is Little White Lies, which has been televised.) Here, she achieves a remarkable balance between the sympathy the reader feels for the different characters. We may have been in this territory before, but rarely with this level of assurance. As Hitchcock did in his best films, McGregor is able to conjure suspense out of the most minute and low-key situations, and as the revelations about Lin's supposed apparitions begin to come thick and fast, even those readers who have second-guessed the author will find a wry smile playing across their lips at the realisation that McGregor has plenty more cards up her sleeve. --Barry Forshaw

HISTORY
The Developer, Free Radical Design was founded in 1999 by a few ex employers that worked for Rare that developed 007 Goldeneye for the Nintendo 64. Up to now Free Radical Design are the creators of the award winning Timespiltters series which was released in 2000 on the PS2 and then followed to more sequels that was released for the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube. They also released this game Secondsight in 2004 which I'm now reviewing and there current project is a game called Haze dew to be released in 2007 on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC.

Advantages: One of the finest first person shooters in history Disadvantages: Over hyped
...and each one of them are divided into smaller chapters. To complete just one level can take anywhere from one hour to three hours depending on your skill level. The length of the game will also depend on what difficulty setting you are playing on, there are 4 different modes; easy, normal, hard and legendary, naturally easy is a breeze but when you take on the challenge of legendary mode it could take you months to complete the game…if at all in fact.
Halo isn't 60 frames per second, but it moves plenty fast enough at 30 for you to enjoy. Remember we're not talking N64 or PSX here, so 30 frames of beautifully rendered environments, enemies and particle effects a second still looks damn good on the Xbox. A full 60 fps would've been an awesome sight, but I don't think anybody would want to sacrifice the fun they've included in Halo...

Advantages: Great game, Fun Disadvantages: Not Online
...Call Of Duty 3 is a game for the Nintendo Wii the game is a Second World War game and is all about shooting people and winning the war. The controls are pretty basic but really hard to use at first but you do get used to it after a while. You use the Nunchuck to walk around with and the WiiMote to aim and shoot with. The graphics are reasonable they are not as good as the PS3 and Xbox360 but the game is much more fun on the Wii because its more fun shooting and aiming instead of just pushing some buttons while sitting there.

...Xbox 360? PS3? Wii? Its hard to choose which is better in the vastly populated games industry and I can't recall a time that it was this hard. So perhaps now that I own both an Xbox 360 and a Wii I can help your choice.
The Xbox 360, devolped by Microsoft to follow their successful Xbox, is, in my honest opinion, the best console to own for the time. The Xbox 360 was the first to be released and the second cheapest to own making it very attractive. Now that it has been out for quite some time all the bugs that once made it have bad points have been sorted out and worked so you are more then likely to have a console that will last you time and time again.
When compared to the other consoles available such as the Nintendo Wii or Sonys PS3 it can be quite daunting to chose the console thats best for you. The Xbox 360 wins, in my opinion...
