Safeguard your laptop or PC with McAfee VirusScan Plus 2009
Advantages: Rates sites as safe (green), potentially unsafe (yellow, and red) before you click on them Disadvantages: Can only protect 1 PC
...a 60-day trial version of McAfee VirusScan Plus 2009. Since I use limewire, my laptop is very vulnerable to malicious mp3 files that I download from the site. Good thing, I activated my trial version the very first time I used my laptop. Whenever I downloaded those malicious files that contain trojans, McAfee kicks it out right away. My husband used to use AVG free antivirus in his pc but he got dissatisfied with it so he decided to purchase McAfee ... ...for one year. McAfee does not only cover your PC, it also extends its protection to your printer and network connection. Whenever an intruder connects to your internet connection, McAfee prompts you. When browsing using Firefox and IE, McAfee site advisor turns green, yellow, or red according to the site's reputation as reviewed and tested by them. You can also enable protected mode by setting a password to "prevent you, your friends, and your family ...

How to hack a credit card
Advantages: Educate consumers to make transactions online securely Disadvantages: Not found, yet.
I have got a master card from my national bank in Indonesia. I intend to use the card for online-shopping as my main purpose. I have heard and read a lot of crimes on internet, especially carding-crime. I am afraid that while I am having a transaction online, someone steals my card number and my identity, and then he or she can use my card to make transactions online without my knowing.
Why should I afraid of the crime? It is simple. I know their ... ...of their smooth way. After getting a valid card number, they make transaction online. In this case, the hacker gives a false mailing-address as the delivery address to the merchant. After doing the transaction, certainly he knows the courier service and knows when his orders arrive. In this case, the courier-service cannot find the address to deliver the goods (orders), and by this chance the hacker goes to the courier-service office – and tells ...

I Thawte I could trust you...
Advantages: Free and really secure... Disadvantages: Slow to get started
Ever wondered whether your boss reads your emails - Looking for a new job, and don't want your emailed applications read by half the company? How about those love letters to the secretary down the corridor? Email security is easier than you might think!
Recently, encryption has been given a bad name by some nasty terrorists, and people are crying that it should be illegal... Do you really think that would bother the terrorists if it was illegal? ... ...there are times when it can be useful...
>>> Email security offers two basic facilities:
* Encrypt your email - This requires that both you and the recipient(s) have electronic "Certificates" which identify you, and which are password protected. Mail can then be encrypted (garbled) by applying mathematical formulae to the text so that only the intended recipient(s) will be able to easily read the message.
* Sign your email - When sending a paper ...

Don't Get Fooled Again
Advantages: see review Disadvantages: see review
Scambusters.org is a site which every internet user should go to right away and bookmark. It details all those internet scams, hoaxes and general bits of misinformation which come flooding into our inboxes daily and as such is invaluable in sorting out the real stories, warning etc. from the falsehoods designed to part us with our cash or cause inconvenience. There are numerous sections on here which include such things as rooting out virus warnings ... ...if you have one(my tip - just go to www.symantec.com and they will remove it), the monetary scams, chain letter emails, urban legends and lots of other things to prevent you getting sucked in by everything - including editorial hints and tips on the subjects. The actual design of the site is a little on the scrappy side with lots of links and stories on the hompepage but no real coherence to it all which makes navigation difficult. There is however ...

Kremlin, encrypt and protect your sensitive files.
Advantages: Encryption, compression, secure deletion and more. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...are it already has!
Kremlin enables you to encrypt individual files or whole folders with a password, so that only people with the correct password can decrypt and read the information. It's very easy to do; you just right click the file or folder, click Encrypt or Decrypt, enter the password and it's done. It even asks you if you want to securely delete the original - more on that in a bit. One final advantage: it also compresses files as it encrypts ... ..."In its most secure setting, Kremlin uses 160 bits of encryption key. If one billion computers were each searching one billion keys per second, it would take over 10^13 years to recover a file encrypted with Kremlin. That's 10,000,000,000,000 years, more than the life of the universe!"
Not only does Kremlin allow you to encrypt and decrypt files quickly, it also allows you to "securely delete" files. You may be aware that when you right click a ...
