The cars are shiny enough unlike the dull cars in MSR but also not exaggerated like in Tokyo Highway Challenge. The tracks look good but are quite sparse. The night tracks are the best and all the tracks have official sponsors. Overall an average attempt but acceptable.
Gameplay This is where this game excells. It may not have the amazing Kudos system as in MSR but the depth of the options are excellent. You can buy parts e.g. alloys, upgraded suspension and then finely tune them to suit your driving style. Everything from the ride height of your car right down to the angle of the spoiler. You start off with $100,000 and buy your first car either from a dealer or a second hand garage. You then race it in sponsored competitions(real sponsors like McDonalds etc.) and then gain money to upgrade or buy a new car. Before you do this though you will need to gain a license(as in Gran Turismo) to be allowed to race a car. You need a better license to drive the fastest cars. I think that the handling is also very good but people say it's rubbish. Well you can tune it to any style you like so I don't know how anyone can say anything against it.
Sound This is the only part of the game that really lets it down because the music is absolute rubbish. Although, on the other hand, the engine noise is perfect and revving the car up gives an amazing rush.
Overall I think that it is definately worth £20 if you love racing games. If you love Gran Turismo get off your backside and go buy it. If not, get off your backside and buy Virtua Tennis (the best game on any console)
Advantages: Some great features, nice graphics Disadvantages: Awful handling
Sega have got a huge catalogue of A-grade gaming titles under their belt. You only have to look as far as the likes of Virtua Tennis, Sega Rally, Sonic and Shenmue. Of course, everyone makes a mistake from time to time and one of Sega’s more recent mistakes is this – the truly average Sega GT. One of those games that you will pick up in the shop, have a look at some of the specs and screen shots and think ‘Wow, this looks like it’ll ... ...the game that was the Sega version of Gran Turismo but this title fails to come even close at every single part. Graphics: I’ll quite happily admit that visually this isn’t too bad. It’s certainly not an oil painting and it doesn’t come even close to matching the graphical prowess of other Dreamcast racing titles such as F355 Challenge and MSR. In fact MSR almost makes this look like a Saturn game. Almost. They’re functional ...

Advantages: Very good game Disadvantages: Bit dissapointing
I am very disappointed. I really expected this game to blow GT2 away. The graphics are nuts, the cars are cool, and both the sponsorships and the car factory ideas are really revolutionary. I even enjoyed the drag racing!!! Unfortunately, all of this is nullified by poor control and unrealistic collision effects. The controls are WAY too touchy, there is seemingly no way to come out of an oversteer situation. Colliding with another car or a wall ...

Advantages: Immense lastability, handling grows on you Disadvantages: Graphics are good but don't live up to expectations, terrible sound
...come close to Polyphony’s masterpiece. Sega GT: Homologation Special (no, I don’t know why it’s called that either – expect a name change for the European release) is Sega’s attempt to destroy Gran Turismo, a feat much easier said than done.
When you first boot up this game, the first thing to grab your attention will be the quality of the graphics. With the exception of F355 Challenge and the GT2000 demo, these are the best racing game graphics ... ...The biggest fault with Sega GT is that the cars do not move anything like cars. Turning is nigh on impossible, especially with faster cars with a long braking speed. The cars do not grip the road at all, preferring more to slide round the corners like a rally car, but not. If they did move like a rally car, it would be much easier, but rally cars power-slide round corners with the ability to turn inside, but SGT cars take corners at a wide angle ...

Review of Sega GT (Dreamcast)
Advantages: nice selection of cars and tracks and you can build your own car. Disadvantages: floaty motors.
I brought sega GT in Electronics Botique for £20 brand new, which was a good price for the time I brought it, which was about 8 months ago.
I read mixed reviews on the game but I thought at this price I couldn't go wrong, it was meant to have great graphics and really good gameplay and wide slection of cars.
I was wrong, I put it into my dreamcast and after about an hour of playing it I noticed how poor this game was compared to Gran Turismo on ... ...frame rate loss at all but the cars feel like they are on the moon! They float on the tarmac and really feel fake, even if the grapics are good.
There are a good selection of cars and even a factory were you can build your own car, honestly. This sort of brings the game back to life but not enough for a brillant attempt. ...

Advantages: EXCELLENT GRAPHICS, GAMEPLAY & LONGEVITY Disadvantages: SOMETIMES TOO HARD, EATS AWAY HOURS AT A TIME
This game is fantastic & is by far the best racer on the Dreamcast (even better than MSR & Le Mans 24 hours).
It is not really a 10 minute "pick up a play" type game but will reward the patient gamer who wants to drive "properly".
You start the game by buying a quite small car and competing against similar vehicles in several tournaments.
Progress is made by winning races/tournaments, modifying your vehicle and then earning more money in harder ... ...progressed from a tiny 1.0 litre hatchback to an 8 litre Dodge Viper!
The tracks are well varied & the number of vehicles & modifications available is huge.
Factory prepared cars can be won also, in the various license competitions.
There is also an option to build your car from scratch; having complete control over body style, engine, chassis etc.
However, as you near the end of the game, great patience is needed in setting the car up just right ...

Advantages: Game play, graphics, sound, music...everything. Disadvantages: AI, no damage model.
, and etc until you have a machine that you are 100% comfortable with. There are also speed-adding tune-ups, such as Turbochargers, Cat-Back systems, and a racing chip. You can take an Acura Integra and bring it up to 500 HP with enough money.
The races themselves are quite vigorous. The AI is rather flawed, since they seem to have a knack of knocking other racers off the track. But that is ok, you can knock them around too. What is most amazing about this game is that you can practically feel the speed. SegaGT was the Dreamcast equivalent of Gran Turismo, but despite its better graphics the game ran too slow. It felt like you were doing 55 when flying down the track at 150. This problem greatly reduced the fun-factor, but in GT3 you feel exactly like you are doing 170 when you are doing 170. And when you are flying up that dreaded ramp ...
Advantages: Good design, and great for playing games Disadvantages: None! (well battery life is shortish)
-pad to allow you to play games on it. The games don't have amazing graphics, but they consist of clever animations, and there are a few classics available for you to download to the VMU via the Dreamcast Internet. There's Pac-Man, Tetris, Godzilla (very confusing as it is in Japanese), Various football games, Space Invaders, Etch-a-sketch, and all the mini games that are included with many Dreamcast games. There is the Chao adventure from Sonic adventure, a SegaGT racing and training mini game, some Soul Calibur games (online only - not from the game), some from Quake 3, and many more!
The games aren't that complex, and don't really require much thought, but they're certainly worth playing a couple of times. I think the bets mini game is from Sonic adventure.
The VMU is only £19.99, and there are various online shops that will sell ...
