The Sega Saturn is a poor, misunderstood console. It had some great games, but somehow lost to Sony and Nintendo. These are quite rare now, so if you see one then I advise you to snap it up. I recently bought one second hand for £30. Then buy NiGHTS, Fighters Megamix, Sonic Jam and some of its other great games, you'll have a damn good games machine on your hands.
The only drawbacks are its lack of support and technical prowess, but everyone still loves the NES don't they? If you know a good second hand games shop (GameStation kicks arse, by the way) that does the Saturn then there's no reason not to buy one.
