... Seiko made a good watch here.
The face glows in the dark, just the right amount to tell the time and it keeps the date and time perfectly, what more could you want?
I’d recommend it to anyone. No batteries. No hassle. Brilliant watch.

(+) Arguably the best looking mens watch ever. Large clear display, Solar powered,Enough functions to keep you informed/amused forever. (-) Not G-Shock nor Atomic clock (via radio signal) contolled. You certainly need instuctions here as well.
My wife bought this watch for me on my 21st birthday, which was 8 years ago now. That fact alone speaks volumes. I convinced her with unsubtle hints that I wanted a kinetic watch because I was intrigued by the idea. No batteries, just powered by the movement of your wrist (no rude jokes please – we’re British!).
At that time, the watch cost a handsome £150. Which considering we were only in our early twenties and still at university, was a very generous and thoughtful present. I’m sure there are cheaper versions now, but that fact is irrelevant. This watch has stood the test of time, no pun intended. Hopefully not to jinx a good thing I can tell you that it still works and I have never had any trouble with it. Wearing it day in day out keeps it fully charged. If you are unsure, how much charge is left, press the button on the top right and the second hand spins to tell you. 10 seconds is 2 weeks charge (I think from memory), 20 seconds is a month? And 30 seconds, well, that’s the best you can get. Of course, that is based on there being no movement at all from you for that time. Which is of course daft, unless you take your watch off and leaving it lying about the house for no apparent reason. As I have been known to do. But even then, in the last 8 years, I’ve never had it run out of charge. If it does get low and I’m bored, I sit there shaking it to charge it back up to full charge, but that’s not necessary, simple movements throughout the day would do the same. You’d be surprised just how much you move your arm and thus your wrist during the day.
I can’t really speak on the diving water resistance, as I’ve never been diving wearing it, but I have had showers, baths and been swimming without any trouble. The watch itself is a solid construction, the strap has never broken, its easy to keep clean and surprisingly it hasn’t scratched much over the years. Simple design, it still looks modern and aesthetically pleasing. If it broke, for whatever reason, I’d happily buy another and expect the same amount of use out of it. I can’t see that happening though. Seiko made a good watch here.
