I recently discovered an excellent little shop named select.
I found this little aladins cave which is packed full of low budget bargains in Rutherglen shopping centre which i usually only visit for a cafe lunch as the shops in recent years really havent been up to much but when i noticed a new shop had filled the space of one of the many vacant retail units i couldnt resist going in for a quick browse. Before i knew it i had been in the shop for more than 45 minutes and was making my way to the till with arms full of pretty summer dresses and a few other goodies.

I purchased three dresses to wear over leggings. Each dress was great quality especially for the rock bottom price tag that they came with and they were all much more interesting than the clothes i usually buy from my usual high street favourites.

QUALITY

The three dresses which i purchased are available for just £22.99 which is much less than i usually pay for this sort of item from my normal fave shop river island. The dresses are made from good quality cotton and each has different sequin and beading details on it which look great, unfortunately these details are pretty fragile so the items tend to be handwash only, i find this a little inconvenient and I normally hate this because it usually takes things youve handwashed ages to dry as they cant be put through a spin cycle but as the dresses are all made from light weight cotton they dry really quickly.

VALUE FOR MONEY

Select offers excellent value for money whilst at the same time offering key fashion pieces which certainly do not look low quality, they also wash really well and last as they are made from good quality materials they do not look like they are ready for the bin after a couple of washes, this is what i usually feel is the problem with low cost clothing from places like Primark.
They currently have an excellent sale on which unlike other shops applies to ALL items in store and is up to 75 % off. You can buy 3 beautiful dresses for less than £30.

STYLES AND SIZES

My local shop for being quite small seems to cram alot in. There is a large variety of clothing, jewellery and accessories on offer which ranges from dressy to casual and the sizes start from a size 6 and go all the way up to a size 18 over the majority of the range although i have on occasion spotted items which are available in everything from a size 4 to a size 20. I think the thing that makes Select so amazing is that the items that they sell are often a little bit more eye catching and original than similar items which are available from other highstreet stores, for example i bought a dress ther last time i was in the store which has beautiful hand stiched beading detail to the front, this makes the dress feel and look quite luxurious which is amazing considering how little i paid for it. Another thing i love about select is that they always seem to have every size in stock and on display which makes shopping much easier and even if it is not out on the shop floor they are more than happy to check the stockroom and if they really have run out they take your name and number and when the item comes back into stock they will call to let you know and hold it for you untill can go in to pick it up.

STAFF

The staff in my local branch are always fabulous. They are always asking if there is anything they can do to help you, they will check for stock if there is something you are looking for which isnt on display on the shop floor and they really make you feel as though you are important and as though they really do want to help you. This is a far cry from the way you feel if you request something in your average high street store so i feel that select must invest some time and effort in both the training and the interviewing process of their potential staff.

SHOP LAYOUT

My local store is quite small and cramped (ie youd find it hard to swing a cat) and this can make it difficult to find what your looking for but i have never found this to be much of a problem as if i cant find what im after the assistants are always more than happy to help you out even if they are busy. I have visited another of their stores which is located in the shopping centre in East Kilbride and i found this store to be alot more spacious, it is however alot further from my house so i still much prefer to visit the more local Rutherglen branch.

CONCLUSION

Overall i think this shop offers a really great range of beautiful fashion pieces. Alot of the summer dresses were really unique items and i have never found pieces as special as this in another highstreet store at bargain prices like these.
If ive still not managed to convince you how great Select truley is by raving on about it why not pop into your local branch and check it out for yourself, i promise you wont be dissapointed. I know i certainly find it difficult to resist its charms these days and a quick trip to the local cafe which is located in the same shopping centre is now an excuse to browse in my favourite little shop.
