Not far off perfect... 10 of 10 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Sound quality, keeps a lot of noise out, fantastic value!

Disadvantages that silly bit of plastic on the wire - not the world biggest criticism though

Ok, so I've got bored of buying cheap £5 earphones and having to replace them every 5 minutes... But I don't want to spend too much on earphones really. I use earphones for probably 2 - 4 hours a day, whether I'm on the train, walking, working on my laptop or watching TV on the laptop, so they really are a part of my life, so I wanted to get it right.
I actually bought a pair of these from a website called MyMemory - who although are not the snappiest at delivery, offer free postage and are pretty reliable. It was a pretty heavily reduced price of about £13, as far as I could tell. I heard Sennheiser were good from family, so I thought it was worth a try.
The earphones come with 3 different buds, which is handy if your ear holes are a funny size, but if you're as indecisive and fussy as me you spent at least 20 minutes decided whether your ears warrant the big size or not!
The other thing I noticed is this (as far I can tell) useless bit of plastic attached just below the dividing point of the wires. I can't figure out what it's for and I wish it wasn't there, but it's doing no harm I suppose. I can't even say the box came with any hints on either.
The earphones have a plastic join between the wires, this means 2 things: 1 - There is only one single wire all the way down, rather than the standard 2 wires that are kind of stuck together and often just separate and cause more nightmareish tangelling which all earphone users are familiar with. 2 - (and this is possibly a bad point) the point at which the wires separate is not adjustable. Personally I don't find this a problem at all. I quite like it to be honest.
Built quality - yet to be seen, but they do come with a 2 year warranty, and that should be good enough for anyone, especially at £15 or so.
Sound quality - Wow - what a difference, I mean I know I'm used to cheaper stuff, but the sound quality surprised me greatly - some of my more bassier music has become quite addictive, just for the sheer quality of the sound! I particularly recommend Evanescence for these earphones, though I'm not actually a massive fan!
The earphones are "cleverly" designed so be easy to pinch with your fingers to pull in and out of your ears... nice ideas but they sit so deeply in your ears it's just fiddly to be honest. Although it doesn't do any harm I suppose.
But here is one of the most impressive things: these earphones don't claim to be noise cancelling or even noise insulating. But whether you're on a train or bus in a room of people talking - it's fantastic! I read a previous review saying that it was very impressive but not so extreme you can't hear loud noises which is perfect - they really have a point - couldn't ask for more really - what a great price.
These deserve a 4.5 out of 5 really, but seeing it's not an option and I don't dish out 5's very easily it gets a 4! But well done Sennheiser - I really strongly recommend these to anyone who will make good use of them!
