Advantages Advantages Rich audio, great noise isolation and excellent value

Disadvantages Disadvantages In-ear format may not be everyone's cup of tea. Rustling from cable.

A SENN-SIBLE INVESTMENT I have been happily and contentedly using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for the best part of two years now, so when I recently acquired a netbook, I decided to relegate them to my laptop bag and invest in some new, upgraded headphones for my iPod. I toyed with the idea of getting a like for like replacement (the CX300 has been upgraded to the CX300 II) but I found that the next pair up on the product ladder were available for just a few pounds more, so I opted for the CX400 II instead. WHAT’S IN THE BOX The CX400 comes in the sort of heat sealed plastic ... more

Advantages Advantages Sound quality is excellent, handy volume adjustments.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wires get tangled very easily

On first look there is nothing about the Sennheiser CX 400 II's that stands out; they are a very unassuming item to own and do not look any better than a pair you can pick up in tesco for a quid. However, looks are very deceiving and these babies serve as a case in point. I received these as a gift and so there was no gawking at the price of them but simply plugging them in and taking them for a test drive. At first I wasn't all that impressed; its amazing how quickly you can get used to the quality of a product. However, as soon as I listened to music through my normal speakers I realised ... more

Advantages Advantages Noise cancelation, comford fit in ear, doesn't fall out, discreet, clear sound, slight bass boost.

Disadvantages Disadvantages No built in micrphone

I have been using these earphones for a few years now and they have never degraded in sound quality nor have they been replaced by another product. I am a music producer and therefore use them in my home studio so that I do not disturb the neighboors. The fact that they are noise isolation earphones makes it easier to produce music without disturbances from outside sources and I can hear all the details of the track. When I first bought them I was confused as which version or series of Sennheiser to buy. I actually bought these earphones based on how the product was advertised on its own ... more

Advantages Advantages brilliant quality, amazing value for money, comfy

Disadvantages Disadvantages could have a slightly tougher cable

The Sennheiser CX400II Earphones are a fantastic pair of cans, with incredible sound quality and fantastic noise isolation. In my opinion, these are not only the best earphones for under £20, but I would be happy to pay twice the price for these. I got these of amazon for roughly £20, and it was lucky I did because the price has now gone up to £39. Even so, I would say it is still a pretty good price to pay for such awesome buds. They arrive in a plastic packaging which seems sturdy enough to do a good job of protecting it through even the roughest of deliveries. Inside you get a small leather ... more

Advantages Advantages Long life depending on price, good quality, noise cancellation works.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Avoid fakes

The first thing I should mention is that there are fakes out there, a lot of them. I bought some CX 300s a few month backs and they were unfortunately fake. I am saying this because it may be a little confusing when deciding whether to buy these headphones as the price may seem to good to be true. So yeah, some of the really cheap ones available may actually be fakes, they look similar but are actually knock-offs which will probably have worse quality and break easier. As for the real CX 400-IIs out there, for the right price these are amazing. I got mine for £15 and for the price headphones ... more
