The first thing you do when your looking for headphones is look at the specialists, if you look at sony, panasonic, or any other big brand electronic firm and think big name=good product, your wrong even these companies specialise, for example you won't do badly buying a Sony TV but sony sound has honestly gone downhill at the turn of the millenium.
Sennheiser specialise in headphone, and you can tell when you hear what comes out of their headphones. The CX series is their premium in-ear headphone set, and you can get the CX300's for £20, these CX400 come in at £30 and I fully recommend you get these. They are bass driven headphones, better base than nearly any headphones in this price range and do not overpower the treble one bit, a fully rich variation of sound, no crackling, no noise, and no sound from outside. Yes they are noise isolating, so you will pairly hear any outside noise compared with other in-ear, you no longer need to get chunky over-ears to noise isolate.
Most of us can here between the sound range of 20Hz-20,000Hz (the lower being the base frequency, the higher the treble). These headphones will deliver sound between 17Hz-21,000Hz so you really do get more bass than conventional headphones, and the treble response is much better than conventional headphones. So overall with a full spectrum of sound your music is reproduced through the headphones exceptionally, and they are 10-fold better than ipod ones and just as loud with a peak sound pressure of 113dB wihout ever hissing. If there was one problem it would be the intrusive feel you get when you have to push these headphones down your ear canal, which is what gives the noise isolation and if you didn't push them through you wouldn't hear the bass which in the end is well worth the short uncomfort you feel intially which to be honest i don't notice anymore.
If you looking to spend around £30 on a set look no further, they noise isolate, they give a full rich sound, they will smack anything else you will get for this money. The only similar in-ear, noise isolationg headphones that will give better sound will be the shure's which are twise as expensive.
The CX400 Come with: - 1m extension cable - 3 types of different size ear buds (which you have to take time over chosing which are best for you, as the right choise will make your music even better) - a leather carry case Overall very affordable, very good, and i would recommend sennheiser as a brand, all of their headphones are great value for money and will deliver great sound.
