Disaster has struck!! I was on the train home from work yesterday, low and behold, my earphones are broken!! Goodness knows why, but they have. I thought I was going to die - the journey home seemed to take light years. On the flip side, they have lasted years of my tangling them up, they have given me my value for money, so I suppose they are definitely worth buying.
I know what brand of earphones I will be buying... I love Sennheiser, and won't be buying anything else. EVER
I bought these earphones about a year ago, I must use them almost everyday. If I remember rightly they cost me about £26 (Including P&P) from Ebay. I was looking for something that blocks out background noise. Also, something that keeps your music private. For example, your on a train and you can hear what some other people are listening to. Not only can this be annoying, but it also really irritates you and seems to put you in a bad mood for the rest of the day. So I did'nt want to inflict that on anyone else who may be around me. As you may have guessed, I commute to work everyday on the train and then the underground. Its not exactly the quietest place to listen to music, thats why I needed something heavyduty to block out the noise, whilst not being too loud.
When they arrived through my letterbox, I did'nt realise what they were, until I opened them. They are really neatly and compactly packaged, which can only help the environment as there is a minimum of packaging. This also proved to be really secure, as they hadnt moved around inside the moulded plastic either. This meant that they arrived in perfect quality and didnt get damaged in any way.
The way that the earphone look is superb, they come either in all black or silver and black. I'm not too sure but they might actually come in white too...... They fit snugly into your outer ear and are really comfortable to wear. There is also a built in volume control in the wire as well.
There were 3 sizes of "Ear-Buds" that came inclusive in the packaging. Small, meduim and large. I find that small fits me best. One downside is that they can fall off pretty easily, as I found out a few months ago on the underground. Without the "Ear-Bud" the earphone is really unusable. I hav'nt been able to get hold of any replacements though. So, for now I am using the meduim size. They work just as well, but are a really tight fit. Maybe this is a good thing??? I havent noticed any difference in quality of the noise cancelling though.
All in all, these are excellent value for money and quality, and come highly recommended by me. They might be that little more expensive, but they do what it says on the packet. For me, thats all I ever asked. Even when I'm on the Jubilee line or the Metropolitan line they allow me to listen to whatever I want in comfort, without having background noise, or the volume cranked right up. Most of you will know how noisy the underground is. Especially the Jubilee or Metropolitan lines. For me, this is a measure of quality, and these pass with flying colours everytime.
