I'm no audiophile but I do appreciate a full, rich sound from my music and these deliver. Everything is there. I listen to a variety of music from Jazz to Heavy Metal and these seem to pick everything up. The sound is better than listening to my stereo system in the lounge!

Why buy expensive headphones? Simple, it's all about the musical experience. I brough a pair of Sennheiser HD500's from Comet at the end of last year for half price (£35, due to a damaged box) so I could listen to tunes at work. I was amazed at how fantastic they sounded so I decided to buy a pair for home. The wife is pregnant so is going to bed early. Playing music without phones is not an option as she will hear it so I brought a pair to be able to listen to music and the TV when she was in bed. After some research (not a great deal to be quite honest) I settled on these as they were about £54 delivered from Strachen electronics.
I'm no audiophile but I do appreciate a full, rich sound from my music and these deliver. Everything is there. I listen to a variety of music from Jazz to Heavy Metal and these seem to pick everything up. The sound is better than listening to my stereo system in the lounge!
The lead is 3 meters long which is fantastic for trailing it around the lounge for TV viewing (although these phone are overkill for the TV) and are great for watching DVD's with as you will hear sounds you have missed before.
The ear piece sits very comfortably around my head and the foam padding can be pulled off and replaced if necessary (and probably washed too if you wished).
You could spend more on a pair of headphones, but unless you a complete audiophile I would suggested stopping at this price bracket and get these.
Advantages: Great Sound quality Disadvantages: None that I've found
I have had these for over six months now and I am very impressed with the sound prduction quality. I have been playing music from rock through to classical and all in between, films and games and they have not distorted once. They are very comfortable to wear being fully adjustable and having lage soft foams are suitable for long periods of time. The design in terms of looks is pleasing to eye although they are perhaps a little too large for comuting. ... ...and they are supplied with a phono jack converter for portable players. The moulding at the connecter is very supporting so damage due to bending should be minimal. All in all I have not had a problem with them and for the price I have not had a pair better. ...

Introduction
Sennheiser are a well known name in the music industry in terms for high quality, producing mainly headphones and microphones, both for businesses and personal use.
The HD555s are one of Sennheiser's "audiophile" offerings according to the website, sitting between the HD515 and the HD595.
Currently selling for £69.99, these are hardly the cheapest headphones, but with so many rave reviews around I decided it was worth at least trying them out.
Features
Most of the headphones specifications go straight over my head, so instead I'll quote the features list:
" * Enjoy music in a completely new way: ?Eargonomic acoustic refinement? (E.A.R.) design channels the audio signal directly into your ears
* Advanced Duofol diaphragm technology almost eliminates standing waves inside the capsule
