There is something that puts you right off your cup of tea when you think of spending more than £60 on a pair of headphones!! I reviewed many quality brands, ranging from Sennheiser, Sony, Bose, Panasonic, Beyer, Grado, B&O (apoligize in boring u... believe me i can!!) All i wanted was a pair that sounded great, and looked halfway stylish. After Many weeks i decided - Sennheiser HD595. Since then and after reassuring myself of spending that money, and listening to the quality and feeling them...im a REALLY happy bunny!!
Bargain hunting!------- I searched ALL over for the best price, eventually got it down, popular comparison shopping search sites did it!! You may well find well know retailers to be more expensive with these.
Packaging-------- The cardboard box it came in, was so well built that a Jewson's delivery lorry could reverse over it and each ear phone would be still intact (hehe...just...don't try it!!) It also had that lovely new smell when you open it! The design is good and practical, there is just one rubber cable to the LH ear, and its well sealed. The cable quality is good and durable with a gold plated plug with adapter. Cable length is ideal; not too long or too short. So if your favourite seat isn't too far away from your hifi stack, this is perfect! It comes with a smart hook, so you can proudly hang them up on your hifi rack or bookcase for easy access.
Quality---------- As with majority of high quality sound products, you cant judge them on the first day, you need to wear them in. After a little while its personality began to shine Big Time, wahooo!! HD595's response in the bass area comes to life; it is stable, confident and really excites the senses and makes you feel proud! These are open-ear design, so they have a more spacious sound. Only one caution, other people can hear you if its loud enough!! The higher frequencies are also exceptionally stable and no signs of distortion or harmonic distortion in the upper Khz areas, such as Opera singing. I have listened from Girls Aloud, Madonna, Celine Dion - Handel, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and spoken voice. If you are really a classical music lover, and like flat responses, these may not be the best, but for exceptionally high quality listening without distortion these really are worth the money. Listening to DVD's is a treat, DVD Audio, Music DVD's come out tops so does Digital Radio. Overall they feel good to wear over a long period and have an adjustable fitting. They may not have the wow factor in style like some makes, but they feel so comfortable and sound so special and dont break the bank for an audophile range - a real treat for the ears.

A good review although for statistics it would be good to know exactly how long the cable is - does it come with a 35mm jack or is there one fitted already? Prices across the internet reveal this product is average priced between £90 and £120 so how much did you pay and where did you buy them? Also are there any settings on the headphones themselves or are the pads removable for cleaning? If you update your review let me know.

Advantages: Amazing sound quality, well built, records straight to Mp3, S/PDIF, microphone, good battery life, playlist creation, backup compact flash cards Disadvantages: Big and clumpy (feels worse than a Zen!), poor Mac support, poor interface buttons, starburst features (photo wallet) need download for older versions
