I bought these headphones half way through 2009 at a Music Live convention in Birmingham UK. They were on sale for £10 (Reduced from some larger value!) and I have had them ever since.

My first main impression was on the looks. In my opinion, I’m quite impartial by that I mean they aren’t the sexiest looking headphones whilst they aren’t the ugliest pair either! Anyway I don’t buy my headphones on looks.

On my first test of these headphones, I was incredibly surprised by the pristine highs faithfully reproduced by them. The high end is not too bright but not a smeared flat tone either. It is just vibrant enough to not cause headaches or ear fatigue.

These headphones have got a pretty standard rated frequency response at: 21Hz – 18KHz, pretty standard for over ear headphones.

One of the main points I am impressed with is the quality of the cable it has a “springy” rubbery feel to it compared to a plastic feel normally found on headphones and earphones alike. I do care for my headphones but obviously they do undergo tangling and the odd bash etc. Luckily, this pair hasn’t even started going scratchy as such yet! +1 to the cable and jack any day.

I find the frequency response (in actual listening) to be quite spot on too though they do sound slightly mid-scooped. I’d need to see a frequency response chart to confirm this.

Overall, I am extremely happy at these headphones and can completely recommend them. If these headphones were stolen/broken, I’d most probably buy their bigger brother HD202 but failing that, definitely go for this pair again!
