I bought this to complement my newly purchased ipod as I realised I couldn't tolerate the poor sound quality from Apple Ipod headphones. I looked around on Tottenham Court Street, which is well known for its audio/visual knowledge. I knew that Sennheiser was a good manufacturer of headphones so I was quite eager to buy them after reading good reviews.
The sound produced by the headphones is just short of amazing; especially for the price I paid for it. Just £40! The bass is a bit 'chunky' at times but I quite like my bass to be thick and the vocals comes out really well. When checking out older albums I used to spin a lot, I begin to notice details I hadn't noticed before; a guitar riff that is momentous to the rhythm of the song or the drumming that seeps out in between the guitar/bass really well.
Noise-cancelling feature is quite good here, even though it is not a must as it isn't quite closed. But it performs quite well, I was blasting my heavy metal music at top volume in a packed library and no-one gave me a glance, which shows how it doesn't leak sound out of the headphones. Bonus! Also, I can hardly hear a thing coming from outside; if I'm approaching near traffic, the noise from outside isn't very overpowering as the music tends to cover it up which is great!
The build of it seems quite plastic y but it is not surprising due to the price, but however, I have had this for 4 months and there is NO sign of wear and tear! I am expecting sometime soon that it will begin to chip away even if I keep it in a good condition.
When wearing this for long periods, say for a few hours, your jaw will tend to hurt for some reason I can't fathom as the buds don';t even touch near your jaws; however your ears will get hot due to the buds!
The cord length is annoyingly long- way longer than 1 meter. It can be a nuisance when you have an ipod and you just want to listen to them while ipod is in your front pocket; it is quite a challenge using a headphones with 2 meter cord. Where do you put the cord?? I devised a sound method- tying up most of the cord into one big lump and just let it hang. However, it is PERFECT when you just want to lie back watching movies on your laptop or listening to loud music late at night.
This headphones has exceeded my expectations and more! I will gladly buy another headphones from this manufacturer when my headphones, if, does fall apart. :)

Advantages: Light weight, comfy, great bass and midrange, replacable chord, brilliant isolation Disadvantages: Sometimes bass drowns out midrange so you might need to adjust EQ settings for some types of music
