Advantages: plays well and has a 2 year warranty Disadvantages: maybe uncomfortable to some users
Three months ago when i was looking for a better headsets for my Sony portable CD player, i was doing a lot of research on the internet until i came across the SennheiserHD 555 which moved me and i decided to make a try with it. This headphones which were not so cheap could provide me exactly with the sound quality i was dreaming for a longtime. This headphone is punchy in the bottom-end and slightly rolled-off extensions in the uppermost highs. You can use it basically with any MP3 play, iPods, computers and portable CD players and its light weight and has a 8.5 oz. It has this design that makes it fits well in the ears and gives you a lot more of comfort and better sound quality. Its treble, bass, vocal you hear from the music that comes out of it is perfect that you feel you are present in the studio for the production of the music ...

Advantages: Great sound, durable, cheap. Disadvantages: Lacks the range that some higher end headphones can provide. Not always loud enough.
Great pair of headphones if your on a budget. Sennheiser are known for their quality built headphones and these are no exception.
I originall bought them to plug into my amp and listen to my electric guitar "quietly". They performed pretty well at this and handled the low basses without distorting. The only slight downside is that they weren't very loud. I'm not one for really loud headphones, but when these reach a certain threshold of volume they start to distort a bit. Under most circumstances this is fine, but sometimes I find myself needing a touch more volume out of these.
I also use them now for listening to music and playing games on my PC. The headphones sound absolutely great for both music and gaming and the sound quality is really crisp.
The only difference you'l notice between these and an expensive pair ...
